Hong had interview, passed oral test, they want a paper 1722 (yes 1722 ) showing transcript for 2005 taxes, I have filled form 4506-T this is to obtain the 1722 letter according to my instructions.

Only problem is these are not ready yet since it is so close after tax season.

What am I supposed to show or what else will satisfy the US Consulate Gereral ???? I have made copies of all my 2005 pay check stubs and 2006 up to last week. Will these work along with a letter stating why I am unable to obtain the information requested.

Thanks all

Call 1-800-829-1040 and get them by phone.. they're available as soon as they are processed... so if you've gotten your refund, it's been processed... THis way is ALOT quicker than filing that form through the mail...

My lawyer sent my taxes for 2003,2004,2005 & transcripts for only 2003,2004,

Now US Consulate wants transcript for IRS from 2005 =

I think I have this covered now=Waiting for snail mail to drop off.

Thanks for the advice.

I am now checking for airfare for Hong.

Mark, I don't mean to alarm you, and frankly I admire your confidence here, but why are you under the impression that once you provide these transcripts that your fiance will be instantly given her visa? If you check the postings of others who have been given blue slips and have been asked to provide the exact same thing you have to the HCMC consulate, it is months before their case is re-reviewed, and yet you are already planning on plane tickets and filing AOS.

Did they tell you specifically that your case is going to be different? Really, I hope it does go this easy for you.

NOT INSTANTLY ,I am guessing with in a few days

Because it seems to be if you pay a little money things go faster in Vietnam,

Kinda like things go better with coke.

When you pay a few dollars your paper work does not go to the bottom of the stack=just the way it is !

OK, I found one and she says they DO NOT offer 1722 anymore. Period.

This is what I was told two weeks ago. ####### is going on in Vietnam?!?!?!

I don't know, but check this out. In another one of his posts, MarkV posted this reply:

Phone bills in your name, money sent ,letters or e-mail,or yahoo chat ,visit to the person, boarding passes, pictures with the person ( i didn't do this ) packages sent ( keep all postal receipts )

He didn't say in this posting that the consulate requested additional evidence of their relationship but my man states here that he didn't provide pictures "with the person"

OK, HERE IS THE TRUTH in regards to form 1722.

Download form 4506-T and request your transcript via 1722 and you will get a stamped transcript from the IRS.

The problem is the IRS pushed this form back, prefering the automated, unstamped transcripts. But they did not discontinue 1722. It took me an hour on the phone with 5 different reps to get to the truth.

Matt,

Can you further clarify with more detail what you mean when saying, "request your transcript via 1722."

Are you referring to "Line 6" on the 4506-T form? Where it says, "Transcript Requested. Enter the tax form number here (1040, 1065, 1120, etc.) and check the appropriate box below. Enter only one tax form number per request." Is this where we are supposed to list '1722'?

Really appreciate you sharing the information you found with the IRS. So it seems this should now become part of the normal document gathering before the interview.

Sorry Daleqq didn't think I would confuse some, guess you were one of them. I only had to provide more information on my income. I have transcripts in hand now, took 7 days to arrive, will send out today by FEDEX

About the pictures ,we did have engagement pictures , but Hong did not have any of us in the gereral public taken together. This didn't seem to pose a problem in the interview for Hong.
