Police clearance question????

I have a question here that i hope that somebody could help me on this. I've worked in japan bfore and i stopped last 2 years ago. When you worked in japan you had only exact 6 months to stay and you have to go home at exact 6 months. I am just wondering if i need still a police clearance sinced i dont stay that long there anyway. I hope that somebody will help me for this...

11-15-10 Sent IV and AOS packages seperately via overnight mail.

11-16-10 IV and AOS packages received at NVC at 11:22am ..... Now the wait begins again :(

11-30-10 Both packages entered into NVC's system awaiting review.....

12-07-10 RFE. A simple fix , But i need to wait till replacement page of Ds230 arrives, then overnight the checklist stuff back to NVC.

12-15-10 RFE docs arrived via DHL from Judy...heading to the Post Office to overnight to nvc

01-10-11 Case complete, now waiting on the interview date email...

In the packet 4, it says 6 MONTHS OR MORE, in my own understanding, since you exactly 6 months, you have to get a police clearance from Japan.

Hello there.. thank you for the adviced.. but now i am more confused coz my sister told me (she is at japan right now working) that they will not give me a police clearance there coz i dont stay that long there and i am not a citizenship. She told me that even other talent working there dont have a police clearance coz they just stayed 6 months... and that exact 6 months we had to leaved Japan anyway.

Hi! Hope you read my PM but for other readers benefit with the same problem...Please procure a police clearance from any country you've stayed for 6 months or more before your US embassy interview. You can apply in their succeeding embassy in Manila. This way, you will avoid a delay for a month or so in visa processing. :blink: Alas! our immigration attorney advised us otherwise. Glad to be of help :innocent:

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT TALENT.. YES I AM A TALENT TOO... I STAY TWICE 6 MONTHS IN JAPAN ... YES THEY WONT GIVE YOU P. CLEARANCE BUT IF YOU HAVE THE REQUEST LETTER FROM THE USA EMBASSY AND SUBMIT IT TO JAPAN EMBASSY THERE IN PHILIPPINE THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE P.CLEARANCE.. THATS WHY YOU NEED TO GET THE REQUEST LETTER FROM THE USA EMBASSY... BUT IF YOUR NOT IN A HURRY AND YOU CAN WAIT TILL YOUR INTERVIEW. IF THEY ASK FOR IT... THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE REQUEST LETTER... THEN WAIT FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 3 MONTHS... THAT IS ONLY MY ESTIMATE..

But i just want u to know that i've called already the USEM here and they told me that they dont give a request letter for my police clearance. Can i know how you did your request letter? did you go personally to the USEM for them to give you?

Hello there! i am so greatful and so thankful for the help and shared some experience that you had before. I am really worried about this things coz i didnt know that i need a police clearance from japan anyway. So do you mean that i just need to go USEM here and asked for the request letter? do you think they will give me that request? sinced i've called the USEM that they dont give a request letter. ANd thats get me worried, how can i have a police clearance if they dont give me a request letter anyway. But i am so thankful really for the help tips, i still try to go the USEM to have that request.

You can apply in their succeeding embassy in Manila. This way, you will avoid a delay for a month or so in visa processing. :blink: Alas! our immigration attorney advised us otherwise. THANK YOU SO MUCH RIDION FOR THE GREAT HELP HERE TOO AND TO THE OTHER VJ member that have same problem like mine. I need to go to the USEM personally i guess to have that request letter coz i've called the USEM and they told me they dont give request letter, so how can i get police clearance if the USEM dont give me a request letter anyway. Thats japan embassy requirements and the passport only, i hope and pray that they can give me my request..
