Need a vacation destination

Hello all,

My kids' spring break week is the week of March 31 and we still haven't decided on a vacation destination. I was wondering what ideas you might have given the following parameters:

1. Don't want to venture out of North America... not enough time.

2. Prefer warmer destination to a wintery one.... we live in MI. It's 11 degrees F here today.

3. MUST be teen-friendly... have two daughters: 13 and 16

4. I have frequent flyer miles I can use for airline tickets, but I'd like to keep the total cost to around $1500 or less...

5. I have checked into cruises.... anyone ever been on one with teenagers that they would recommend?

6. They've been to CA, UT, NV, AZ, FL, NY, IL, WI, PA, Washington DC, TN, and Cancun... one has been to TX, so I'd like to travel somewhere other than those states...

Ideas anyone??

Jen

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

My uncle and his wife are almost done building their retirement home on Fripp Island... I'm lobbying for it to be completed by then so we might be able to stay with them!! But I still need a plan B, just in case.

Helloooo, I'm going to school in Charleston, it's pretty nice, nice weather and beaches and pretty downtown and tours and things. And I don't know what the rest of the country's perception of SC is anymore but don't worry Charleston isn't hicksville annoying at all.

If you do settle on a southern beach just please don't take them to Myrtle Beach, SC -_- It's very overrated I think, and if you don't want your daughters drunk shamed and abused quite quickly you should definately stay away, especially during Spring Break.

I'm such a boring conservative :P

Parts of Louisiana are nice for vacation.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Anywhere specifically, brother dean? I'm not really a beach person but my kids love it... wouldn't mind renting a cabin in the mountains near a lake and just chilling... that's MY idea of a vacation.

I was looking at S Carolina attractions.... kids might like the haunted house tours. No way I'd get them to stay in a 'haunted' hotel tho....

jen what about gatlinburg or pigeon forge? you can rent cabins there pretty cheap.

I thought of that too.... weather can be kind of 'iffy' in TN in early April. I went to college at the U. of TN Knoxville. Spent many hours studying in the mountains there....

Practically

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
