K1 Medical Exam - Reasons for denial???

I'm sure it will be ok, but I have some concerns about the medical exam.

What are reasons for denial of the K1 based on medical problems? I know HIV is a reason, but otherwise what are they looking for?

My fiancee has a few medical issues, but nothing that is a danger to me or others and all can be controlled under a doctors care.

Communicable diseases are what they are worried about.

Sec. 212. [8 U.S.C. 1182]

(a) Classes of Aliens Ineligible for Visas or Admission.-Except as otherwise provided in this Act, aliens who are inadmissible under the following paragraphs are ineligible to receive visas and ineligible to be admitted to the United States:

(1) Health-related grounds.-

(A) In general.-Any alien-

(i) who is determined (in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services) to have a communicable disease of public health significance, which shall include infection with the etiologic agent for acquired immune deficiency syndrome,

(ii) 1/ except as provided in subparagraph © 1a/ who seeks admission as an immigrant, or who seeks adjustment of status to the status of an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, and who has failed to present documentation of having received vaccination against vaccine-preventable diseases, which shall include at least the following diseases: mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diphtheria toxoids, pertussis, influenza type B and hepatitis B, and any other vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases recommended by the Advisory Comm ittee for Immunization Practices,

(iii) who is determined (in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services in consultation with the Attorney General)-

(I) to have a physical or mental disorder and behavior associated with the disorder that may pose, or has posed, a threat to the property, safety, or welfare of the alien or others, or

(II) to have had a physical or mental disorder and a history of behavior associated with the disorder, which behavior has posed a threat to the property, safety, or welfare of the alien or others and which behavior is likely to recur or to lead to other harmful behavior, or

(iv) who is determined (in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services) to be a drug abuser or addict, is inadmissible.

The VJ guides have some suggestions for chronic conditions, like getting a letter from your DR. stating that the condition can be controlled with treatment...link below...

While this may not apply to you, I have also read that in the Philippines many people have been denied their visa based on admission of EVER having used any illegal drugs.

My fiancee's friend told her that she won't pass the medical because she has chronic UTI. (urinary tract infection). Her friend is one of those that thinks she knows everything about everything and now my fiancee is freaking out.

UTI isn't on list of diseases put out by the CDC or on the checklist for the medical exam.

Do they even do a urinalysis during the exam? I thought they only checked blood?

Is there any reason at all to be concerned about a UTI during the exam? Embassy again is Manila.

A urinalysis is done at medical.

Chronic UTI is not a reason for denial.

Besides communicable diseases, drug use is the biggie. NEVER admit drug use of any kind past or present. And, make sure absolutely no drugs in system.

i use drugs,not totally an abuser one just beginner due to sme friends grrr, and my medical is coming,can anyone enlighten me so i can pass the medical:(
