I was introduced to my now husband over the phone, through his mom (a friend of mine and used to be co-worker). So I'm not so sure about meeting a man on the internet, but people do it and find love. Good luck, maybe go to nigeria on vacation and look for a man.

We met on a dating site...I dated within my state/area, then I met him thought he was too far away...tried to be friends...feelings too strong for just friends...here we are today. But be careful I was lucky, I know of others who have not faired so well...use your good judgement.

But my question to you is why a Nigerian man? You find love and or friendship when and how you find it. But to say that you specifically want to meet a Nigerian man? What are your motives? What do you think a Nigerian man can give you that a man from any other culture might not? Sorry to those i offended. I just wanted some tips.. I known this is not a dating site, all i wanted was your good advise if you have one. Thanks to those who advise me to be careful. I am always carefull in what i do. By the way i am a nigerian, thats why my interest is in nigerian man, but that does not mean to imply that i am not open minded.

Just for the record I was not offended by your questin, and I hope my statement did not offend you. But like all people you meet people through people and or you meet people on your own (internet, school, vacation, church, on the bus) etc.. Being of Nigerian descent I am sure you are in a better position than most of us in here to have respectful and responsible Nigerian men introduced to you.

i am sure most members of your family and friends would love for you to marry a Nigerian man, that would probaly be the best route for you initially.

So, don't take my attempt to use humor and or to delve deeper in to your motives as an attempt to offend.

I met my SO on a dating website for members of my church. I didn't have ANY idea he was in Nigeria. One of his uncles in the US set up his profile, therefore the profile showed the city where his uncle lives. I thought I was getting a wonderful man on the east coast (and that would be doable 'cause I had a crapload of frequent flier miles).

Then I found out he was in Nigeria, but a little whisper told me to give it time to get to know him. He's the most perfect man I ever met (note - not PERFECT, just the closest I've found). Anyway, I didn't plan on an international relationship. But that was GOD's plan for me.
