Hello fellow members

So when a officer asks "Was it an arranged marriage?" what should the person say if the marriage was an arranged marriage. My wife's sister, who is in the U.S, arranged the marriage between us. Considering that her sister is already in the U.S, is the officer going to think that the marriage is fradulent. There is only 2 years age difference between us and we were not married before. I would hope that in India where some marriages are still arranged, this would not be looked in a wrong way by the consulate officer.

I think with it being an Indian cultural norm, admitting to an arranged marriage is not something counted against you. I would answer truthfully. You can say you were introduced through family and then decided to get married.
