Key West always looks good to me! Enjoying more snow today - and yes, enjoying because it doesn't last and I don't have to shovel it or scrape ice off of the car windshield. Temperatures getting down into the teens here overnight - cold for us. Birds have been stocking up on seed like crazy all day - they know it is coming. I still prefer the heat to the cold, though:-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Quite frankly I could handle the temperature IF I had someone under the covers with me. Next winter sweetie!

Being in New Orleans- I can't complain. With the incredible heat and humidity they have here in summer time- I'll enjoy the cool weather while we have it.

Ditto for Houston too. I'm lovin' the sunny weather, low humidity, and 60*F temp today south of I-10. 45*F wind chill? Not at my house!

Not everyone can afford a summer and winter palace like the Czars...so I suffer the summer so I can savor the winter in the South. Yin and Yang.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Global cooling. FTW!!!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I wouldn't think anything of it cept to just stay inside. However, I am counting the days till I escape my mother's house next month after my taxes are filed. She lives in a newer house, but it is terribly insulated. There is basically no insulation in the attic, the windows were bargain basement, the house just leaks heat and cold in general. The heater has been running all night. My brother set it at 70. This morning I woke up to 56F with the heater about ready to kill itself. I turned on the oven and put sweaters on me and the kid.

 well Maggie, you better !!!! But as Kazan' Tiger says: "Quite frankly I could handle the temperature IF I had someone under the covers with me. Next winter sweetie!"

Now THAT sounds like a plan of action for me too. I'm all with you KT. ermm, with the thought, not the part of getting under the covers with you.:whistle:

anybody else just feel like giving up? I have, but my love for Maggie keeps me sane
