But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

You ever see a carrot cry? Not a pretty sight. Only minerals for me thank you. :(

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Sujeet is a vegetarian (no fish either, which I thought was a given when saying vegetarian?), but does have milk and cheese. (no eggs).

It can be hard if we want to go out to eat but we have found many ways to do it! The thing is, it matters what kind of vegetarian someone is. Sujeet is not a all about health and only low fat, because he is a vegetarian for not wanting to kill animals, not because of trying to be healthier.

At Mexican restaurants, cheese enchiladas are great for him as well as the rice...he doesn't much like just eating bean burritos for obvious reasons. ;)

At Greek restaurants, he'd have the gyro...minus meat, and it's a yummy veggie wrap.

At places like Pit Boss & other BBQ places, he has grilled cheese, fries, salad, garlic toast, etc

He also loves Pizza...w/ cheese and mushrooms or onions.

Burger King has a veggie burger now that he actually likes.

We cook mostly at home and go out to eat once a week or once every other week. We make Indian food which is easy to do for a vegetarian. Also I use a lot of fake meat from Boca, Morning star, etc. Also tofu.

I can give you some good recipes if you like lil spicy food. Not just Indian food recipes. One thing I make it called Kenya Chicken, using tofu or fake chicken. It's great. Coconut milk, onions, red pepper flakes, tomatoes and tofu or fake chicken.

But Sujeet is not too picky about the veggies, we mostly store up a lot of frozen cauliflower, peas, brocolli. Potatoes and onions are always in the fridge too for Indian cooking. Sujeet doesn't like eating just salad, in India they don't eat leafy salads much and he feels like he's eating a tree which is not appealing to him. So he rarely enjoys a salad.

But we've learned where to go/not to go, what I can cook since every meal at home is vegetarian. It's been a challenge for me since I am not a vegetarian, to cook filling meals every day that have no meat.

i'm not a vegetarian - LOVE me some meat...

But I have found the most amazing Vegetarian restaurants that really "Get it..."

one was in NYC and the other in Asheville, NC. If I could eat at places like that I might really consider giving up meat...however I have no moral objection to it and it's not necessaryily more healthy..oh well.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Frances, why would you speak of your MIL that way?

I was reading that and wondering "What's wrong with calling her a veggie?". I never realised that was an unknown slang word here...you learn something new every day!!

Plus, I agree that Indian veggie rules!! We had some this weekend...yumma yumma!!

I tell you right now that that is not a Kenyan recipe. Not if it uses fake chicken or tofu.

But as I said above, Indian vegetarian food absolutely rules.

Well I meant that the recipe calls for chicken, but I just use a substitute. My mom got this recipe off of a TV show years ago, where someone was going to Kenya on a trip and wanted to throw a dinner party for their friends in the spirit of the trip. They had dinner planners come and teach her this recipe, which is supposedly authentic(you just never know sometimes!). With real chicken it's much much better in my opinion!

Okay, so you just modified the recipe so Sujeet can eat it as well. Silly me.

A person in a vegetative state is sometimes, in a not so nice way, referred to as a "vegetable".

My mom is a vegetarien that doesnt eat garlic, onion, chives, green onioin or anything that has strong smell like that (no egg or milk too).. it's very difficult for her to find something to eat in the US since most of the stuff have garlic or onion in it - we find that the place that have salad bar is the best for her and the salad dressing also hard to find.. normally she just use olive oil..

but at home my hubby just make her some vegetarian dish that i also enjoy eatind it.. like bake butternut squash, roasted egg plant - and there are other kind of vegetable in asian market (i have no clue what they call in english) that it's good for straming, stir-fry or toss it in the salad. In Thailand they have the can-vegetarian food that taste pretty good - most of them are thai food - eg. curry and stuff...my hubby even like it!!

If God had not intended it to be eaten, he wouldn't have made it look so much like a taco.... ;)
