Did you consider getting the 3D ultrasound of the baby?

Yes. My doc does offer them for about $100. However, getting booted off on early leave cut our fun money, so we really couldnt afford it. It would have been exciting though. We are both very anxious to see what he looks like.

When we inquired, the charge was going to be $200, but they make an actual video. We were going to have it done until I read up on ultrasounds and the advice of not having one that isn't necessary. The sound waves raise the temperature of the baby and for delicate tissue, that's not good.

The images are amazing though.

My doc offers both the 3-D and 4-D imaging (the 4-D being about $150). The 4-D is the real-time movement that they use to produce the video. And yeah, Ive heard its super cool. Once in a blue moon, a doc will do a 3-D as a diagnostic for cleft palate/lip or some other such anomaly if the 2-D U/S warrants it.

*Sigh* but it wont be too terribly long and we'll be able to see him in the flesh. Exciting just to think about . And Ill probably be up and posting on VJ before we head to the hospital on the blessed day, too! LOL

It's exciting! Hope that you have a healthy delivery. With the way our baby kicks, I think he's ready to come out soon too.
