The strangest thing i found from my Edi, is he dont just eat a candy bar (im talking one of the wide hershey like ones, also snickers), he puts the whole thing in his mouth, and in 2-3 chews ITS GONE!!!! just shoves it in his mouth, the WHOLE THING at once, and "gulp" gone! I was afraid he wasnt human at first. :P

As far as his country, hmmm, lots of things i found strange, but i think the strangest was feeding poor kids (gypsy kids). I bought a loaf of bread for this 5 year old little boy and all of my friends yelled at me. I guess according to them the bread was gonna go strait to his parents, who can afford bread from pick-pocketing anyway, and the kid was gonna get none of it. I didnt know that, i thought i was helping a kid.

I love shrimps with the skin on, just take out the heads, if they´re fried with the shell they taste better, and the shell is as yummy as the rest.

Anyway, my fiance´s memory is the crappiest I´ve ever seen, so that really seemed strange to me as I tend to have a good memory, and he´d forget things I thought were impossible to forget.

That they ate beans on toast for breakfast, and not being circumsized was the norm....

Mushy peas on chips. I generally love British food-- pies are amazing, and I even liked the black pudding, but I have to draw the line at mushy peas...

I LOVE mushy peas on chips! your partner must be a northerner! I'd take mushy peas over black pud anyday!

oh god yes... the beans for breakfast :o

and those friggin roundabouts... talk about nauseating....

The weirdest thing about my husband....hmmmm, now that really is a tough one. He puts ketchup on pizza, and I find that to be really pretty nauseating, and he also puts pesto on his tuna fish....lol Ummmmm, when he's watching soccer on the television he talks to himself. This morning for instance, the FA cup semi finals were on and he was in the living room watching and I was in the bedroom folding clothes. I thought he was on the phone with his buddy Steve, cause he was talking away about the match. I went out to get a drink of water and I realized, no, he wasn't talking to ANYONE on the phone. Just staring at the TV and talking to himself about the plays. Now THAT was odd!!!! I just looked at him for a minute and went back into the bedroom

6/19/2002- Met Online

11/10/2002- Met in person for the first time at Buffalo International Airport we spend a blissful but all too short week together.

9/26/03- After much talk with USCIS we decide to go ahead and get married during David's third visit, with David planning on returning to Ireland the following week.

9/30/03- Phone USCIS to ask questions on filling out paper work and USCIS officer informs us that if David is already here he doesn't need to leave. After numerous calls to the Irish Embassy and two more calls to USCIS to confirm, we decide he will stay.

12/02/03- Petition for AOS recieved

10/8/04- EAD FINALLY arrives

that he likes tuna fish and mayo on his jacket potato (baked potato)!!!!!!!!! what is up with THAT?!?!?

Along those lines, I would have to admit that the sheep jaw (complete with teeth) on my plate in a restaurant kind of freaked me out a little. I guess I was supposed to pick the little meat that covered the bone but I couldn't get myself to do it. The rest of the food on the plate was good, though.

i think my husband (USC) has had the hardest time adapting to my strange phrases. In Canada we use a lot of strange expressions, phrases and slang that are completely natural to us but pretty confusing to others. Perhaps the best and funniest example is this when we first were dating....we were discussing my ex-husbands inability to get/keep/bother to attend a job.....I off-handedly said 'well, hes just a dog-#ucker' ...and he looked at me with the most puzzled look on his face and said 'now hunny thats just gross'......and I almost died laughing. What I thought was a pretty universal phrase to describe a lazy person....apparently isnt so universal. When I stopped laughing long enuf to explain it, he thought it quite funny also, and uses it as much as he can hehehe.

I had a similar experience when David first came over. He uses the word tw*t an awful lot. In Ireland it means an idiot, or a twit or something like that. Over here it's a VERY derogatory term for the female genitalia. The first time he slipped and said it over here, we were playing a game of cards with my parents. My mother won, and David jokingly said, "You tw*t!" Thank God my mother has a sense of humor!!!! He was SO embarassed...... Poor guy.
