there we were, at a nice restaurant...and the plate of shrimp appeared. and i get one with my fork and quickly started taking the head and tail and legs and shell off.....and she just sticks one in her mouth!!!! shell, head, legs and all! :hehe: i was like...........#######?

(that's the first thing i told my dad about when i got back to the states too)

on another note, first time i took a shower there i noticed that they have this real big shower head. i was like "cool, a shower massage"

um, no. upon further inspection, i find this electric cord going from it to the wall....220 volts!

all i could think about was "i'm taking a shower with 220 volts heating the water and it's made by the lowest bidder."

Mushy peas on chips. I generally love British food-- pies are amazing, and I even liked the black pudding, but I have to draw the line at mushy peas...

the one that got Alex AND myself was learnign one thing about each others' countries at once.

We went to Melinas (best restaurant in this area lol) and when we finished our waiter asked if we'd like a box. I replied that we would LOVE some boxes, and he asked me "love, why do we need boxes?"

And there's what we learned, I guess in France you don't take your food home for later. Which amazed me, and here we do, which knocked his socks off.

I LOVE mushy peas on chips! your partner must be a northerner! I'd take mushy peas over black pud anyday!

Oh I have so many restaurant stories!

We don't have free refills, now THAT knocked his socks off.

We waited about 10 minutes before the bartender in a Parisian bar even so much looked our way. Dave's all: Well, someone's not interested in a tip. I'm like: Um you don't tip them, dear.

To be fair, there was a soccer game on and everyone at the bar was too indulged.
