Hi everyone!

I see from this site that for the Vermont Service Center, K-1 NOA2s seem to take around 4-6 months.

Does the USCIS website always say that they are processing apps from 6 months before the date?

My Immigration Lawyer told me something along the lines of "don't worry - they always say 6 months"

Has anyone seen differently?

Also - how long does it usually take to get your receipt number working in the online system? It's been over a month since I got the NOA1 and still can't get on.

Thanks for your input!

I mailed my application on January 4th, and received my NOA1 in the mail back on January 13, with a date of January 9th as the NOA1. My receipt number worked IMMEDIATELY. I was able to see the number on the back of the canceled check on my banks website. Before I even received my NOA1, I put that number into the system and it found it. Maybe make a phone call.

The average is 6 months, although Vermont sometimes moves packets through faster than that. But there ARE May, June and July filers from Vermont who are still waiting for their NOA2. My advice would be to plan on it being 6 months. Then if you get it sooner - pleasant surprise. :D
