Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I am well today. I'm just coocooning in my bedroom watching Nigerian movies. My relatives have all left Brooklyn for the weekend to attend my cousin's wedding. It was too costly for me to go, so I sent my daughter (she's in Philly) to represent me. :crying: How is it for you teaching in NYC? I recall is was tough 20 years ago so I can only guess it might be more challenging now.

Mmmmmm.... African movies..that should make you fee better :star: Sorry you couldn't make the wedding -_-

As for teaching in New York...I teach in District 75 (self-contained special education), and I work with children with autism. My kids are 6 and 7 years old. So, I am really not with the mainstream. Although it is still challenging working in D75. D75 deals with children with emotional disturbance, autism, mental retardation, severe learning disabilities and the like.

I love my kids :):luv:

Wow. That sounds challenging. My son is working as an autism specialist para while in college. He says one of the best things about working with his students is that they are transparent in character. He never has to guess what they are thinking once you learn their personalities. With the increasing rate of autism in the US, I say that you are in high demand. I have the high school students who know more than I do and aren't afraid to tell me that they know more than me. :girlwerewolf2xn: If the recertification weren't so lengthy, I would have switched to Special Ed years ago. Just to add, I just spoke to my daughter who said she was not able to see the wedding ceremony because the pastor ordered the door locked at 2pm on the dot. They got there around 2:02pm! I would have been hot had I flewn 3,000 miles and not gotten to go in the church.
