A friend of mine ran with the bulls today!!! :o:bonk: He is alive!!! Whew ;)

Okay, that's just plain nuts!!

I remember my old pastor once saying that he was watching tv and this guy got bitten by a shark and he felt that God saved him. The pastor said that it wasn't God because God didn't SEND you to swim with sharks. It's pure luck. So stop pushing your luck!

Zainab, have you taken him to an all you can eat buffet yet ?

Girl the way this man is eating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think it's a good idea until he slows down. He's eating like a maniac. I have to go to the grocery store again tomorrow and we've only been home for four days. Is it the altitude? He's eating something as I type. Last night he said hunger "attacked" him at midnight and went downstairs and ate all of my left over Italian. ALL OF IT!!!!! I almost took him to the Country Buffet for breakfast on Sunday, but I was afraid he might kill himself. I'm gonna wait until this wears off. When will it wear off ya'll?

I don't remember us discussing this when we talked about what happens when they arrive. But my mom told me that it's normal. We're from Guyana in South America (part of the West Indies) and when my family immigrated, they all had initial periods of eating like crazy, then they settled in. I wonder what that's about really? It's so wierd. Not to mention expensive. He ate his whole steak and half of mine at dinner tonight. Kay and I used to eat off of two steaks for about three days.

When you come from an area of famine or rationing of food to a state of abundance, you tend to over do it.

p.s. Zainab, do you speak spanish or some variation of?????

I do. But not because of being from Guyana. It's the only english speaking country on the continent....formerly called British Guiana. We were a British colony before we gained independence.

Which reminds me.............have we located Chispas yet?

How long did it take for him to slow down?

Bassi is a footballer so I expect that there will be eating spurts whenever he's heavy duty training. But this has been a bit overwhelming for me to say the least. I feel almost like a short order cook. But I'm adjusting.

The jet lag doesn't help, when I go to Germany and come back I eat at the craziest times day and night.

OK, whenever you think it's safe to take him to the buffet...........I wanna hear what happened.

Which reminds me.............have we located Chispas yet?

OOPS!

Yes. I've heard from her. She is hanging in there. She has somethings she is handling right now and have been pretty busy. She said that she heard people have been inquiring about her and she is grateful. She said she will try to check in as soon as things slow down a bit.

Kobby too is a footballer...has not played much since he has been here though. He slowed down perhaps a couple of months after getting here. He was stuck on Oxtail and rice and peas for a while!

Side Question: Do you make pepper pot during christmas? Mmmmmm.....

You might have to make that trip to Costco sooner than later

Great to hear about her. I'll keep praying for her. I hope we hear from her soon.

Yeah, I may be heading out the BJs to stock up cause my daughter comes home on Monday and between the two of them I won't be able to keep up!

No pepper pot. We don't eat pork. My mom still does though.
