The guides say the below:

"

Cover Letter. Should include a description of what your are petitioning for (I-485), a table of contents (list everything in the packet). If you need additional room to explain your case, attach a separate sheet (list the attachment on the cover sheet). Make sure to sign and date the cover sheet.

"

My question is who signs the cover letter - me (who is the sponsor) or my wife who is filing I-485?

I-485 is all about the NON-Immigrant adjusting status, the Prosective immigrant signs it. The only thing in the package that the sponsor provides and signs is the I-864.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Why don't you both sign it?

The cover letter is not an "official" form, it's simply a professional way to make the job of the receiving person easier. (And they will be much happier with that. Everyone loves to have their day made a little easier, right? Office Max does that cool "easy button" commercial. Kind of the same deal with the cover letter. Anyway.)

When we sent ours in I believe it said something like:

Cover letter for AOS of Mrs. Slim/XXX-XX-XXXX (Intending Immigrant.)

Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah.

See enclosed:

- Blah

-Blah

- Blah blah

- and one last blah

Signed:

Mrs. Slim

Intending Immigrant

Mr. Slim

Sponsor
