Visa Fee?

Does anyone know how to find out if there is a fee associated with obtaining teh actual Visa pursuant to the interview?? Besides the Visa Fee that we pay to NVC ($380), is there realy an additional Visa Fee that still has to be paid by the Applicant at time of interveiw? Would't they disclose that this fee has to be paid, within the interview instuction letter they send out in the appointment packet? So if it's not in there, I woudl think that there is no fee to pay.

This pertains to a CR-1 Visa. (I-130 Petition).

Can someone please shed some light on this?

Thanks a bunch!

Which consulate are you dealing with?

Your profile lacks details that help others answer questions.

You filed for something not N/A

Your SO comes from a country not N/A

Please fill in your profile details: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

:help: US :help: YOU :time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=40848

Fees went up Jan 1

Total you will pay NVC is:

  • Immigrant visa application processing fee (per person), Form DS-230 : $355.00
  • Immigrant visa security surcharge, for all IV and DV applicants: $45.00
  • Affidavit of Support Review (only when AOS is reviewed domestically), Form I-864 : $70.00
http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1263.html

So is $355+$45 ($400) and $70 for the I-864

Only fees at the consulate are Medical and Vaccination fees paid to medical center before going to consulate.

The fees that need to be paid to NVC are $70 (AOS Fee) and $400 (IV Fee). Plus the visa applicant will pay for the medical/vaccination where a panel physician will perform those before the interview. The visa applicant does not need to pay anything during the interview.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Did the IV bill go up to $400 or is it still $380?

Since you already went through the NVC process, there is nothing more your wife will have to pay for at the embassy for her visa. All has been paid for at the NVC level.
