Just a quick question: If we haven't lived together yet, and we aren't now, and we are sending out the I-130 package out, will a bank statement with both our names and our Marriage License be enough for Evidence of Bonifide Marriage ?

Thanks VJers!!

Hi,

This is a relatively new thing - the sending evidence of relationship with the I-130, so when we filed in March I used the old form, not realizing it had recently changed and didn't send anything.

So, just want to clarify that I have no personal experience with this :)

What I have seen in the forums though is that they also want to see evidence of an ongoing relationship. Have you travelled to visit each other? Do you have boarding passes, tickets (copies) that you could send along as well? Also a few photos as secondary evidence. Anything that says hey - we have known each other this long and this shows our ongoing relationship.

Just some thoughts, I'm sure others will be along with more advice

When I sent my I 130 in back in July all I sent was the forms, the marriage certificate and 3 affidavits (1 from my mom, 1 from my dad and 1 from my maid of honour/best friend). We didn't have anything other than that since we married and sent the forms off as quick as we could. We were just approved in January.

If we had a joint account at the time I would have sent proof of that.

Hope that helps.
