Just wanted to say a quick "HI" to everyone here. I'm still in Egypt and boy has it been hot here! Just a couple of months ago I was cold and now I'm sweatin like a pig! Amr still remains on the God awful AR. I guess now that he's not dead they can actually work on his case! Seems to me though, this error should have been caught at the state level in Washington. Guess I'm wrong though since it didn't happen. So many things have been told to us. We have heard that "he will never get the visa," "The United States does not want any more arabs there," "I need to plan on living here forever," etc. Sometimes I wonder, can they really refuse the visa? Would the tell us if they did? Why the hell are we having to wait so long? So many questions and no answers. I know many of you here know the pain we are feeling. To all of you that are away from your love, believe me, I am praying for you daily. If it wasn't for the grace of God, I would not be able to be with Amr now. I was away from him for a year and it got the best of me, so I do know how it feels to be away from the one you love. The government here is a bit odd, so I'm wondering, as is he, will this ever come to an end? Is it egyptian citizens in the U.S embassy that's dictating our lives now or the U.S government in Washington? We just don't know anything and no one wants to give us answers.

So until we have the visa, I will stay here wondering what the hell is going on. Why are our men checked out so thoroughly? I mean, I know why, but last time I checked there are bad persons in all countries, right??? Guess that's my little "I'm pissed off" attitude for the day. ;)

It's the people we meet, some of his friends and family that tell us this.

Although I am sure they mean well, with all due respect these family and friends don't know what they're talking about.

Sure you're in the deep dark abyss of AR, and no one knows how long it will last.... but it WILL end, and every day you're one day closer to finishing. Hang in there... insha'allah it will be over soon and you will come out at the end of the tunnel with a Visa Victory !!

Enjoy the time in your husband's country, and try not to pay any mind to those who would make worry even more. Thoughts and prayers with you.

I agree with MK on this. I've chatted with another woman going through Egypt (she is not on VJ) and she tells me all sorts of things about what the process is supposed to be like. It is all conflicting with my own experience. When I asked her where she gets this information, it is always her husband's family and friends. I think there is a lot of mis-information flying around. Ahmed has come to me and repeated some of the things he has been told . . . I tell him flat out that it isn't true.

I think some of the more negative comments have to do with ppl that are jealous of the fact that your husband might possibly be getting his visa soon. I think this was brought up by some of the women going through Morocco also.

I know it is difficult but try not to pay attention to this and enjoy your time in Egypt.

I am sorry and can totally relate to what you said. We get the same comments and judgements. It is not easy and we take it one day at a time. We are stuck in an abyss and no one will tell us anything. We are not sure where are case is and what status we have now? All I can say is ignore the comments and enjoy your time with your beloved. Hang in there the AP/AR has to finalize one day and hopefully soon for all of us stuck here.

People always have to talk ....

You know what someone told Ali ?

"Your case is taking too long this is not normal. I bet that American girl never did file the papers and she is just playing you"

Ohhhhhhhhhhh did that make me mad ! I am not "that American girl" I am his wife ! And what is it there business if our case is taking long or not ? Again I say people love to talk and play with your minds.

What was Ali's response to this person ? "What happens between my wife and I stays between my wife and I. I don't have to justify our relationship to anyone. I want here not the visa."

Reunited and it feels so good ....
