Alright so I should be getting the choice of agent sent out soon and I noticed that some people have in their signatures that they emailed the choice of agent. Does NVC email you to ask for your choice of agent or is there an email address on the paperwork when it gets to you?

I'm curious cause I'm gonna try to employ shortcuts (yes I know some people love them, some hate them. I'm not opening a can here) so I wanted to know how you're notified that you can email your choice of agent.

I'm sure it's been answered before but I just couldn't find it.

ps please don't move this as the canada forum are the only people that answer my questions :)

I did email our choice of agent, that was back in like late June early July. At that point the response time to an emailed DS-3032 was starting to slow down and most people had to send 2 emails.

Off the top of my head I emailed it, waited about 10 days, had no response, called NVC they said email it again, which I did and within a couple of days I had the confirmation.

So it's hard to say with this particular shortcut, I mean you could just use James's DS-3032 and mail it in as soon as you know it has been generated or email, I think the time it takes will be about the same.

The shortcuts are excellent - I mean they are really only cutting down on the mailing time which in some cases is quite long, so I think they are well worth the effort

Just noticed the second part of your question re: does NVC notify you where and when to email etc.

There is no notification, this is just something people do, it has never formally been sanctioned by the NVC, guess someone just tried it at some point and they accepted it.

To email it you just send a text email (no need to attach James's form or anything) to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

Ensure your Case number is in the subject line.

Then you just write a blurb (well the beneficiary does) saying that you haven't received your DS-3032 yet but you would like to have - whomever - at - wherever - appointed as the agent.

It's also a good idea to put the Beneficiaries name, date of birth and the case number (again) at the bottom of the email.

Thanks much!

And ya I'm gonna try to use the short cuts as it's just cutting down the mailing time and well I've waited long enough LOL I already 'stalk' the mailman as it is for magazines and normal stuff to so now that things are going I feel sorry for the postal staff in both countries :D

Just noticed your interview is on my 30th birthday! It's bound to be a good day for ya! :D
