I can feel my head starting to spin like Linda Blair.LOL !

I suspect if you check the K1 timelines for those who filed in January 2007, the vast majority had their petitions approved by USCIS within three months. By the time you filed in May, the timelines had changed significantly. Unfortunately USCIS tends to ignore the rest of the process after petition approval, leaving many to think they've been given a timeline for the entire visa process instead of just the first segment.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

you need to devise the plan to survive the wait, that is considerable. if you follow the guidelines on the uscis's website, they are fairly accurate...

seems that the wait is lessening now, but for us who filed in march/april/may and expected our loved ones to be with us by the end of the year, this turned into a very, very long unpredictable journey....some countries are running extensive background checks, so couples that were seeking visas there wait (ed) for even two years to reunite...

so... patience!

it will work out in the end, do not let the separation anxiety rule over your relationship. plan to visit your fiance regularly and to keep the contact daily. remember, you are BOTH in this process, not only you. it is not fair to think that you are having a better time separated, because it is simply not true. suffering is very hard and mutual, and is a par of this deal

hope this helped.

glad to be of help... i was talking to my husband today, we are both in shock...because, guess what? now the big problem (uncertainty) is out of the way...and we are confused, happy, crazy, scared...we have pretty much nothing to worry about now...

so expect lots of different feelings, moods, ideas to emerge along the way.

and, to make you feel even better, once you are done with uscis, things will really look up! uscis is like some filter that sorts cases at the bottom level ( i can see weak couples dropping out off the process), they provide horrible information and horrible customer service. But!!! - once you move to nvc and consulates ...ahhhhhhh heaven! you will be so much more at peace

ok. 'nuf sentimental stuff... good luck to you! keep the faith at the right place!
