My fiance and friends in Georgia texted me yesterday... they were soooo excited that it was snowing! My fiance, Eric, got sent home from work early because it was snowing. Eric sent me a pic of the snow.. and I laughed when I saw what he considers snow to be! He couldn't last in Canada for one winter! LOL

Makes me look forward to being in Georgia during winter :-)

I know! We had a cold snap here a couple of weeks ago and the conditions were right for lake-effect snow. The next morning the news had a picture sent in by one of their viewers of some snowflakes on a car. I think there was maybe five of them. I yelled out "That's not snow!!!" (It was those grainy things that are kinda like hail, but softer and smaller.)

Loving it? Joel has that look in his face "Sheesh, I move all the way down here and still have to shovel this?"

Yeah same here, very wet and very muddy (and you know the kind of mud we have here in the south - red red red!). I just posted in our Canada OT that the snow is falling again here...big fat flakes. I bet you'll be getting it soon. :)

It's finally snowing where we are .... Winston Salem, NC. Started out as big, flakes but now we have tiny, wet flakes. Almost looks like rain. But it's not accumulating on the ground yet.

Watching it closely as we're supposed to have our NC VJ meet up tonight. I'd really hate it if the roads get too bad for us to be outside and driving on them. <_<

It started snowing big soft flakes here about 11 am and continued until about half an hour ago. The temperature outside though is too warm and even though we have some still sticking to the ground, it is melting away so only a few white patches remain. The birds have been going crazy all day at the bird feeders through -they seem to do that on the days when we get snow. Interesting.

It snowed today in South East Alabama. Started at 10 am and snowed off and on for a few hours.

We took advantage of the snow and made some video's and a redneck snowman.

We had fun. It was fun watching them being so excited over it snowing.

They had fore casted more snow for yesterday, but we got nothing!! My pizza delivery guy wil be upset!! I got pizza delivered Friday night and delivery dude was all excited for the snow on Saturday. he stated snow = lots of people ordering pizzas which = more tips!!

I had a laugh this morning, 1 news channel online website stated DC area was in a deep freeze!! When is -5C a deep freeze? lol

As well the news site reported that 1 high end up school official was getting phone call and threatening emails from STUDENTS when a few days back they decided not to close school because of the snow!! I cant imagine why a kid would do that? crazy!! World is out of control!! I think i missed ONE day of school because of weather!! And the school was stil open for class, I just missed the school bus and my mom didn't feel safe driving in it,lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Well we have snow and cold here in Calgary, but I guess that isn't really news :hehe:

It is -22c - so won't be going outside today, which is also not big news in the winter!

I went to most of elementary school here (the rest and high school in Singapore) - there might have been 1 snow day...hmm maybe 2!?

It's tough when you are a kid though because you are short, I remember walking through the school yard doing the - pull the leg out of the snowbank - move one step forward - etc walk

I remember that walk - and you didn't know which was better - tucking your pants leg into your boot or leaving your pant leg over your boot. It didn't seem to matter which you did - you always got snow down into your boot anyways!
