Ohh would love to know what you use for migraines.. i've suffered from them forever though burning peppermint does help.

Really? I get killer migrains, and the only thing that really helps is a lot of sleep and lots of caffeine.

I got one for cold sores. Light a match, then put it out in a cup of water. Then apply the burnt out tip to the coldsore and hold it there for a minute. The sulphur in the match head apparently does something that helps reduce the cold sore and makes it go away faster.

I'm a good two months away from getting AP yet and I found out yesterday that my sister in the UK has found a lump in her breast. :(

At this stage it could be benign and nothing to worry about but finding that out really puts things into perspective about moving over here. If it turns out to be cancer I doubt I will get an emergency AP because breast cancer is treatable, but I just want to go see her and give her a big hug. The whole AP thing is a complete crock, we should be able to come and go whilst waiting for AOS - it's not like it's our fault it takes so fricking long!

Vent over. :)

Gillian

I really hope that it is indeed benign and that she manages to find out whether or not it is really soon.

I'm nowhere near ready to file for AOS yet but AP seems very unfair to me, too. My mother keeps reminding me that I have four elderly grandparents who could drop dead at a moment's notice - thanks, mother!

Don't look for bridesmaids dresses, per se. Unless you are having a formal wedding? I found my wedding dress through a goth/medieval store in Germany and it's gorgeous, though not wedding-y. We're having a themed wedding, but my friends have all found smashing dresses online, they were relatively inexpensive and suited everyone.

What about having your sisters pick out dresses they like in the same color, but not the same style? That would solve the problem of suiting both styles, but still keep the color scheme you want.

@Gillian...much prayers your way. It really could just be a cyst. Those run in my family too, but aren't limited to breasts....anything reproductive related in our family is fair game for cysts...But hang in there. Either way, she's going to need you whenever you can get AP, right? (F)

I really like this suggestion - it was what I was going to say myself. You also don't run the problem of having one bridesmaid's body shape suit the dress style better than the other.

buggery buggery #######! how completely annoying

you'll find something though... and you still have loads of time :)

in other news, my lovely fiancé has been over at our new house every day cleaning and preparing like mad... he's doing twenty-one days straight of twelve hour NIGHT shifts, so he goes on to the house every morning when he's done, with a box or two of stuff he packed the night before... and today he sent me a photo of my new robe, that we bought together in Prague, and a pair of boots of mine that he has, in my half of the wardrobe

he's a lovely man :luv:

Aw! That's really sweet of him. And he cleans, too - what a keeper! :D

We have a VERY tight budget and I am looking for either turquoise or teal that a 17 year old rock chick type girl would like along with a 15 year old preppy type girl (So something in between those 2 looks... )

The above 2 pains in my ####### are my sweet sisters  One of which (the 17 year old) asked whether she would be able to dye her her to match her dress

 Sorry, I have nothing helpful to say. This just made me laugh.

didn't I see Charles in the Site Related Discussion area the other day, championing the idea of a US Elections sub-forum, because it would mean he didn't have to 'open up a thread only to read the same thing every day'?

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Cool! I never knew that!! As for caffeine and migraines... :o I thought that caffeine was wa-a-ay bad for that!! For me the only thing is peppermint, codeine and a dark room with a cold pillow... mmmm...

You know what - my mum is similar - she keeps reminding me that my grandparents aren't getting any younger and I'm like "Duh - it's not exactly the Neverending Story is it?"

Besides - as much as I love my family, having elderly relatives is hardly going to stop me from moving at this moment in time...

:lol::lol:

That actually made me laugh out loud - my dad always says such things, his favorite being "you know, I'm going to be gone someday." The urge to reply "I didn't think you were immortal" is sometimes overwhelming.

I do get the sentiment behind such statements, but he has been saying it since I first got my head wrapped around the concept of death when my first goldfish died and he was only in his 30s!

:P

that's correct. every time we have a thread about the upcoming election, it's the same people, same stuff, i could almost write a playbook on it. right now the tide has turned from those threads flooding ot to threads casting australia in a negative light. ####### is up with that?

in other news, it's friday. and good morning to those in the usa, and good afternoon to those in the uk
