I'm a good two months away from getting AP yet and I found out yesterday that my sister in the UK has found a lump in her breast. :(

At this stage it could be benign and nothing to worry about but finding that out really puts things into perspective about moving over here. If it turns out to be cancer I doubt I will get an emergency AP because breast cancer is treatable, but I just want to go see her and give her a big hug. The whole AP thing is a complete crock, we should be able to come and go whilst waiting for AOS - it's not like it's our fault it takes so fricking long!

Vent over. :)

Fingers crossed! Maybe it's just polycystic breasts - a lot of families have that trait. Including mine. :(

Thank you. I'm staying positive and assuming that it's nothing serious and I won't think anything different until we know for sure.

*sigh*

man, yes, am I EVER tired of saving for moving! I've been saving for ever, or so it seems... can't even remember buying anything fun

Tell me about it!!! And even if I *could* afford to buy stuff, I couldn't afford to ship it all as I have enough stuff I need to get rid of already anyway!!! Grr!!

Just got back from the doctor's -- I have an infected earlobe. (For those who met me last week, that's why I kept the left side of my head covered as much as possible with my hair!) It's not as bad as it was last week when it was 3 times its normal size and magenta, but still, ewwww. I am a giant earlobe freak.

Awww - you didn't show us!? I'm gutted!!

I'm going to compile a natural remedy database so if anyone has any ailments they want me to include let me know. Remember I am not a Dr. I just come from a family who for many many generations has not had total trust in "western' modern medicine espeially when it comes to handing out drugs that has a list of side effects longer than what it treats (even more so when fairly often one of those side effects is death!) I personally haven't taken a painkiller for over 15 years. Not bad for someone who suffers from migranes and bad period cramp.

Sounds great Debz - can't wait to see it - I already pick your brains anyway but still! Something to refer to would be awesome :D

it's weird, isn't it... I'm sort of in the same situation with my grandmas - they've both had strokes in the last twelve months (though one has recovered far better than the other - at 90, and three months after the stroke, she re-sat her driving test and passed first time! :o ) and I've been trying not to think about something happening to either of them before I can get back home and see them again... twelve days and counting ;)

but then, of course, I'll only be there for a month, and then I'll be thinking the same thing all the time I'm in the US

and then it will be my parents...

gah, being an ex-pat sucks sometimes

I know - it's the thing I worry about most :( I've said to Jeremy that no matter how short on money we are - we always have to have enough for me to fly home at a moment's notice... not a nice thought but I think I would go mad without that backup...

*hugs* to Gillian and Krikit :)

I am going MAD trying to find bridesmaid dresses

We have a VERY tight budget and I am looking for either turquoise or teal that a 17 year old rock chick type girl would like along with a 15 year old preppy type girl (So something in between those 2 looks... )

The above 2 pains in my ####### are my sweet sisters  One of which (the 17 year old) asked whether she would be able to dye her her to match her dress

Don't look for bridesmaids dresses, per se. Unless you are having a formal wedding? I found my wedding dress through a goth/medieval store in Germany and it's gorgeous, though not wedding-y. We're having a themed wedding, but my friends have all found smashing dresses online, they were relatively inexpensive and suited everyone.

What about having your sisters pick out dresses they like in the same color, but not the same style? That would solve the problem of suiting both styles, but still keep the color scheme you want.

@Gillian...much prayers your way. It really could just be a cyst. Those run in my family too, but aren't limited to breasts....anything reproductive related in our family is fair game for cysts...But hang in there. Either way, she's going to need you whenever you can get AP, right? (F)

buggery buggery #######! how completely annoying

you'll find something though... and you still have loads of time :)

in other news, my lovely fiancé has been over at our new house every day cleaning and preparing like mad... he's doing twenty-one days straight of twelve hour NIGHT shifts, so he goes on to the house every morning when he's done, with a box or two of stuff he packed the night before... and today he sent me a photo of my new robe, that we bought together in Prague, and a pair of boots of mine that he has, in my half of the wardrobe

he's a lovely man :luv:

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Oh I can't wait til I get to do all that :) Right now I feel as if just getting my man to get us a place to live would be a start

Am so annoyed about flights. I just want to cry right about now. I have ages but I want to make sure I can get Daisy on there with me. Plus I just want it all done and dusted now so I have even less to worry about. Hrmph :(
