I must admit, I do love Wegman's! I'm born and bred Buffalo, so if you're ever stopping by your second home, give us a holler! We'd love to meet up with some VJ peeps! But don't be jealous that I'm in Buffalo - its bitterly cold and windy today. Griff asked me when he could expect springlike weather and I told him May. He said, "That wasn't the answer I was hoping for." I told him its better to have low expectations and be pleasantly surprised if it happens sooner!

I will definitely holler when I'm coming through. I'm thinking I might drive up for Mother's Day or something. :) And I ALWAYS stop by Wegman's to stock up. I'll meet you in the food court!

Then its a date!!!

So which Wegman's is your "regular"?

Just to prove how much I love Wegman's....I was there Friday, Sunday, Monday and Griff popped in today for a few more items! They get so much of our money!

I would SO be with you for all those days if I lived there!

I'm partial to the one by the Boulevard Mall. (There's a good one on Peach Street in Erie, PA too.) Which one do you go to, Julez?

As I am in the South of Buffalo, I tend to frequent the West Seneca store. The Boulvard one is the best though, but the distance + evil traffic keep me away! I could, of course, make an exception to meet up with you!

Evil traffic is the price I pay! I just (L) my Wegmans. Hmmm. *strokes chin* I wonder if they'll let me open a franchise here?

They are already as far South as Baltimore, so you may want to begin your email campaign to bring Wegman's further South. You could also start a petition. I bet you'll find a lot of support for an excellent super market! Good luck!!!

So, as many of you know, Griff and I were married this past weekend. (YAY!!) So I wanted to share a funny story about a gift that my British husband and I received from my brother and his girlfriend. They were the only people who actually purchased a gift (as opposed to a monetary gift) so I was really interested to see what item caught their eye for us. Inside the small box (still emblazoned with its $18.95 price tag  ) was a round picture frame with the following words across the top, as well as printed on a piece of parchment within the frame:

"Tis good to be Irish."

While I have no doubt that it is indeed good to be Irish, I am still baffled as to why they felt this was an appropriate gift for us. They are well aware of the fact that Griff is British. And though my family is of Irish descent, this struck me as an odd (and funny) gift for an American/Brit couple. I know they say its the thought that counts, but its doesn't seem they put much thought into this one!

If I ever upload the pics, you will get pics! Its been such a busy week! Two birthdays and everyday life keep interfering! I haven't even completed my tax return yet and the IRS owes me a fair amount of cash!!

Regarding the food, bring some with you!!! I used a small carry on bag and filled it with my favorite UK biscuits and sweets when I was over! I also stocked up on Branston Pickle. Yum! You can also have your family send you goody boxes once you are stateside!!

I'll be taking golden syrup!

Congratulations on getting married, julez! :D And that is a very bizarre present - are they normally bad gift-givers?

I have one aunt and uncle who send rather strange gifts - a Disney nightdress for 8 year olds to my sister when she was 14, for example - and it's good fun trying to find ways to compliment the gift when writing thank you notes.

Hannah - you must be having so much fun with Mark! Can't blame you for not being around at all. I'm starting to grow very bored of this whole visa process.
