Help! My husband is threatening to make a sofa and two reclining easy chairs out of the seats of a Jaguar! I have just shouted "NO! NO! NO! NO!" so many times I think I'm going hoarse. I said if he makes them, they stay in the workshop. He sees them in the sitting room.

oh pish; they flew under the radar for too long anyway; it was going to catch up with them eventually

and a thread's only as good as its last page anyway... when do you go back and read it from the beginning? (and even if they want to do that, it's still there, innit?)

Just reading the news that woolies stores will all close by January 5th. What a shame, not surprised though. Have seen it coming for awhile. They were still charging 15-16 pounds for albums, you can get for less than a tenner online.

Was part of my growing up that place. Bought my first album there, still have the cassette yet.

That's sad about Woollies, but it's been such a long time coming. I used to go there all the time when I couldn't find a specific kitchen thing that didn't cost a bomb, and recently quite a few of their home decor things were actually quite nice and very well-priced. I bought our "going to America" suitcases there -- great quality hard-case ones that were marked down stupendously. When I bought them I thought, good god, this moving thing is for real.

Got my Christmas parcel from my folks today. Now have walkers worcester sauce crisps among other goodies. Though the meanies at customs took out the tin of oxtail soup! I guess the threat to the nation was too great!!

You know there's an easy fix - you simply tell him that he can have the jag seats in the living room, but only if he lets you cover them with pink furry car seats with clay aikens face appliqued on to each one (and twice on the back seat / sofa). I think you'll find that the car seats stay far away from your living room!

My parcel arrived in Ireland yesterday, I got 3 different people calling me wondering about it, I told them all to their relief that they could open it - all the pressies were wrapped inside hahahah. But now I want MY box of goodies!!
