we still don't have a Chrisbus tree, but we're a big step closer - major efforts yesterday saw ALL the remaining boxes unpacked and cleared from the living room, and a few more re-packed and put in the attic (mainly cheapo stuff of Dave's we were using until my nicer stuff came ;) )

there are still random things ALL over the living room floor, but at least they're one item high, not a boxful

and as they're mainly waiting for shelving to go into the spare room closet, and we have the shelving and can put it in today, a lot of that should be gone this evening... I REALLY don't want to miss decorating for Christmas :star:

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

We went out and bought our tree yesterday. It took ages to get it right in the stand! At the moment it is standing naked in the corner. Hopefully we can get it all dress up this week!

I still have quite a bit of shopping to do and am a bit freaked out as a result!

I wouldn't mind so much about not getting the shopping done, but I have these 3 little weasels depending uponme for an indulgent Christmas. So far, I have one item for each of them. The "big gift" but I still need a few more things for each of them. Plus my sibs and my Mom.

Robin, I envy your 2 weeks off! Though, I did manage to string together a 5 day weekend. Are you going away, or just enjoying the Cali sunshine?

Well I am feeling like cr@p because I have a stinking cold :( It's that same old would-feel-pretty-much-fine-if-I-was-in-the-UK syndrome - the generic cold that makes you feel lame there makes me feel like I am about to die here... I can't wait until my body figures out its new immune system :(

We have rain today as well - it's not even going to hit 50f :o

My ex-husband and I have been emailing this morning about the rain here -- I said it was much like London here today. His reply:

"huh, good. i am glad that the long arm of blighty is still drawing you close. THERE IS NO ESCAPE."

Don't know if anyone has noticed this out before...I went to Borders yesterday to pick up some books and noticed they have an entire section of British TV box sets. I ended up buying the complete series of Father Ted :P

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

We walked to the car huddled under the brolly together this morning - hubby said: 'Just like London, right babe?'

:crying: God I miss it.

whaddya mean it's not winter yet??? Winter starts in November, everyone knows that!

In the US, Winter starts on when the Winter solstice occurs...which is usually bet. Dec. 20 and Dec. 23. Hence, it is NOT yet winter! Only feels like it is! ;)
