Hahah - no -I am not hungover but am defo in hair-of-the-dog mode ;) Maybe I'm just postponing the hangover ;)

We have photos of the kitten eating the leftover deviled eggs, Jeremy before anyone got here, Ginger the ghost and our pumpkins but other than that we were too busy drinking talking to take other pics - we suck!!

Hahaha - tell me about it - yesterday was a beer day as I find that helps soften the hangover but now I kinda just want more beer... We have so much food leftover but I have a feeling that Jeremy might be force-fed later!!!

Well, Monday morning and I think the hangover has gone away now. :innocent: The 2 and a half hour drive back home was fine, but once I got to about Claremont there were all these Sunday drivers doing about 50 on the I-210 and I wished I had a tommy gun welded to the side of the car to take them out. It wasn't like I wanted to speed -- I just wanted to do 65. Bleh.

Aly, your truffles were a big hit with Mr. Cranky back here in Burbank and he's asked for the recipe!

Hehehe!!! Lemme find the recipe and I'll let you know what I did to change it ;) If I can remember - a lot of it was just making it up as I went along!!!

http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Easy-Decadent...les/Detail.aspx

I used white chocolate chips instead of regular ones and didn't use the vanilla. I grated the rind of one orange into the mix along with the juice of the orange and about two tablespoons of triple sec (I'm guessing - I just splashed it in and hoped for the best!) and I used 4 cups of sugar instead of three - but that was just because the mixture was too soggy with the juice and things!! I put in a bit of food colouring as well but you don't need to and you can prolly flavour them with anything you want :) Very easy if a little time consuming and sticky!!

Hope the interview went well Debz, I'm happy about mine. They've called me since to check a few details, so that's a good sign. Cross a few fingers for me.

Fingers and toes crossed.

No line at all at my local polling place, which was -- get this! -- the sun porch at one of my neighbour's. They were super-nice and helped me figure out how to use a California ballot. It was the first presidential election I've voted in since 1992 where I was actually in America and able to go to the polls.

There was a longer line at Starbucks for the free coffee than there was at the polls. :P

You never voted absentee? I notice once I left the UK they made it much easier to do this.

Come to think it, this is only the second presidential election I've voted at the polls - 1996 was the first, when I lived in Boston and they still had cool lever-style voting machines. 1992 & 2000 voted absentee from the UK, 2004 absentee from Hong Kong.

Oh, I always voted absentee, even for the piddling little local elections back in my hometown. I just haven't had the chance to step in a booth for a while, at least when it comes to presidential elections. I was out of the country for election day last year, so voted absentee then, then finally got my chance to step into a booth for the first time in over a decade when I voted for Hillary on Super Tuesday.

Apparently, when I was at Aly's on Saturday, I told her husband I had something very important to tell him about Obama. What that was, I have no idea -- the red wine prevented me from actually saying what it was!

Oh right!

2004 I sent my ballot recorded delivery so determined was I for it to count!

Maybe I'm a nerd, but I actually really enjoy the trip to the polls - I'd always do it if I could in spite of the inconvience. democracy in action and all that.
