congrats Ginger!

I'm counting down the days! 24 till i leave london, 43 till i get to LA. Shipping booked, flights booked, work notified, cancelled gym and cable. Now just itching to get going!!

I think that few week period between getting the visa and moving is the hardest period. It's like being stuck in first gear...you want to get there but you can't.

Oh yeah, thinking of going with the Archstone in Los Feliz *waves to Maven* but can't book it for another week or two, cos they say they'll know what the availablity is then. So if anyone knows anything about that place, good or bad, please let me know!! (or if you're in LA, swing by and check it out for me!)

I'll have a look when I get there -- I'll be in LA on the 7th. Is that too late for you?

Another option might be looking at vacation rentals -- I did this originally before deciding to stay in a motel for a few weeks.

g'morning everyone.

i never have understood that tradition of mashing cake into each other's face.

 me either :D

Few week?! I think had it not been for my mum's 50th birthday I would have gone sooner - a two and a half month wait is horrendous. I'm really feeling it this week - thank goodness Jeremy is here or I would be going even more crazy than I already am - I keep freaking out in floods of tears - especially today because I keep thinking "this time next week"... I'm excited but I am not looking forward to the homesickness and goodbyes :(

It looks nice. The area is OK, busy street, right by the 5. Never been in it, though, can't say how that is!

oh goody, the monthly rate is much lower in Los Feliz than the other places especially for 3 months which is how long we'll be taking it for. $1650 per month. And we wanted to be in Los Feliz anyway. Cool.

Just signed up for US credit card. (with my OH's details). Application was scarily easy.

Yeah - gym, pool, fully furnished and I'm pretty sure that includes bills, but I gotta double check. I don't know why but I asked the boy to call them, and then didn't get half the info I asked for. But whether they're included or not, I don't mind, it's more that they're set up and waiting for me.
