The man hath arrived. No problems going through Dublin immigration, and the plane got in on time. Cab ride was a bit interesting as the cabby started going down the wrong street after I told him how to get to my house from the airport.

Is Chicago the only city where cabbies have no idea where anything is? I think I've read it is required in many cities that you have to know the geography of the city - like the location of every street.

But anything he is settling in...I guess he already has his keyboard out and is messing about on it lol.

oh, SO exciting :)

don't we all love our geeky men :D:wub:

London cabbies are the BEST, bar none... they spend a couple of years doing The Knowledge, which is a fair whack of the city that they have to learn by heart... you see them zipping about on mopeds, with the maps on a perspex folder at the front; they're pretty dedicated :D

those in Sydney are pretty dodge though; I think anyone can be a cab driver if they want... I've given a few directions in my time

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Same here...I give practically every cab driver in the city directions, even though both places I've lived is just off the main drag on the Northside. Maybe the London cabbies have just spoiled me for life

Just got home to discover a car blocking my driveway... A car that is the Mayor's! I had to call his office and tell them it needed to be moved. Great response though -- someone came and moved it within 3 minutes of me putting down the phone.
