Morning! Bruce lost his phone last night -- have stopped service but now have to call the phone company to organise a replacement. I can't quite believe it but in a fit of madness I apparently bought insurance for the phone -- totally unlike me.

oh my god. I just made a decision. Talked it over with my lovely boy this morning, and we've decided to finish up work here in July and move over late July/beginning of August.

That may not seem like a big thing, since on my sig it says that we're moving in August anyway, but for the last while it's looked further and further out of reach. My project is now so far behind schedule, I was originally supposed to finish my contract in the next few weeks, but the project will now run till at least October. I haven't told them at work yet, and won't for at least another month, but I'm soooooo excited now.

I must admit, i am quite jealous of you who will be near each other! We have no one in the Buffalo from VJ. Sad, so sad.

On an entirely different note, we are awaiting news on out latest offer on the house! We countered their counter offer to our original offer. Fingers crossed!!

How exciting about the house -- hope it's good news. I remember when I bought my flat in London and I was freaking out until the news came. I still miss that little flat, even though it had some not so good memories as a "former marital home". I was grateful for the nest egg it produced after its sale -- couldn't have financed any of these transatlantic/transcontinental moves without it.

I've not really spoken to any VJers who live in the Bay Area, although I know a couple do.

I might be closer -- New Haven's only about 120 miles away from Boston... I am pretty sure I'm the only active UK VJer at the moment in Connecticut.

well, you know, us SoCal types could have a meetup in Palm Springs, they even have a British pub there

I *love* Palm Springs... but the English pub there is about *the* must un-English "pub" I have ever seen, even if it does have football (soccer) shirts on the wall and sell Boddingtons

Hoping to move near PS though... I am sure there are better places than that so-called pub
