So the almost going berserk on the embassy via $12 phone calls and multiple emails really does work!

Congrats on finding out and finally being able to make some plans. Good luck, and don't forget to get a copy of the DS-3025. I'll be watching for the "his interview's been over for like 20 minutes and still no word on if the visa was approved yet" thread.

Just kidding! Good luck and keep us posted or ask away with the next set of questions.

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

Speaking of that form... Natalia forgot to ask for a copy when she was there and when she later asked for it they told her "we can't do that".

I guess now it is securely tucked inside the sealed envelope.

Perhaps when she arrives in Atlanta she can ask them to copy it there?

I know she has her vaccination documents, just don't know if they are translated.

Very sure they will not make a copy of it for you, and you will never be able to see it.

If it is an important document you should have received back, go to the embassy and ask for it back. Or, you could take a chance and open the sealed envelope, copy what you want, then go back to the embassy and tell them you accidentally opened it and please re-seal it (which has been done successfully I've heard). Or, maybe you can just go to USA with it opened and explain at the POE that it was opened accidentally while in flight. Or, if you can open it in a way that you can re-seal it with tape and so that it isn't very obvious, try that.

Quite frankly, when we gave the sealed envelope to the officer, he just quickly tore it open without looking at it at all, then sent us to the secondary inspection with the papers inside a loose folder. I can imagine if we handed him an opened envelope he might have a question or two like, "Did you add, remove, or alter anything in here?", but I don't know anyone who has ever actually tried that and I don't recommend doing it unless absolutely necessary and there is no other alternative.

Or, you could just contact the clinic that conducted the medical exam and get a copy faxed from them.

Since you have some vaccination documents, maybe that's all she'll need. Have her go to a doctor over there in Russia, have them transcribe them onto a DS-3025 (download one if they don't have one at the doctor's office or have never heard of it) and have her bring that one with her when she comes here. That's the one she can use to take to the civil surgeon here in the States.

The civil surgeon doesn't actually submit the DS-3025, they do what's called an I-693A/Vaccination Supplement. That's what they put in a sealed envelope. If you don't have anything (paperwork) to show to the civil surgeon, who knows, maybe he'll just take your word for it and write down whatever you tell him. Or, he may ask specifically for a DS-3025. Or, he may be able to just look at translated vaccination papers from her family doctor or something like that. It's all up to the civil surgeon.

Get whatever papers you can on her end and then once you get here you can call around and find a civil surgeon that will do the I-693A with what you've got. First step though would be to call the medical office that did the medical check for her interview.

Congrats on your interview date! That's great news!

Ira's just popped up on the website today for March 17th. We're planning on a May 5 arrival in the states (she's got some family stuff to take care of in April), so the delay will give us plenty of time to deal with any unexpected problems as well.

Good luck!
