Interview in Syria - Medical Exam

Hello - Just got an interview date for my wife in Syria - I applied for the CR-1 Visa (I-130 Petition) last May 2007, and just got word that her interview will take place early next month (Feb.). My question is, for the Medical Exam that she needs to have done by a "panel physician", does she need to take the cover sheet all filled out and give to the Dr., so he can place it on top of the test result paperwork? This is the pdf file sheet per the link on the website, you fill in name, appt. date and Case # etc., and I guess u give to the physician performing the med. exam...

Do you also have to present the NVC letter that was sent, detailing the appt date and time?

Does anyone here know about these things, perhaps can advise. THanks much for your help!

Hi Trekkin,

Yes, your wife should print out the Medical pdf file and fill in the info, then give it to the doctor at her appointment. I believe the doctor will send the results directly to the consulate, and needs to attach this form.

She can also bring a copy of her NVC letter if she likes -- not sure that it would be needed, but it won't hurt to bring it along.

Best of luck with the interview -- insha'allah you're almost done !

When I received P4 from the embassy , there was a letter from the embassy and a list of physician . I called one of the physicians in the list and took an appointment .At the time of medical examination all i needed were my passport and the letter from the embassy .

The doctor filed some forms on his computer while he was asking me some questions (about somking,drugs,operations.....etc ) . Then he printed the forms and placed them with the embassy letter in a sealed envelope.

P.S : My case was generated and processed by the embassy in Damascus .

Thanks for the reply...So was your Visa a CR-1? I would really like to know how the Embassy in Damascus operates - after your interview, did you receive the actual Visa the same day, or have to come back some later time to get it? I wonder how long it takes, if not same day??

Thanks again!

I did not receive my visa the same day cause I had to provide some missing documents . Usualy the visas in Damascus are picked up on Thursdays at 12 noon .

Thanks so much for your help! For your interview, did they conduct it in English, is that a requirement, or is usually done in Arabic, cause if someone can't speak that well English, makes it more difficult....do they ask you any off-the-wall questions, or just the usual, i.e. how did you meet, where did you meet, etc....??

Thanks again.

my husbands interview was in english and they just asked the usual questions. nothing hard. he was not issued the visa that day either and was placed on administative review. it only lasted a week tho. the woman said she had to wait for something to come from the united states before she could give the visa.

The interviewer asked me in which l prefer to be interviewed (Arabic or English ) , so no problem with this issue .The questions were very simple.

Good luck !!
