Hi,

I went for the interview with my wife to get my AOS, but the immigration officer stated that my file only contained the Supplemental form to I-693 and that he required the I-693. However, I did my vaccination document in Canada and that is the reason I was able to get the supplemental form to I-693. The immigration officer told me I need to fill out a Form I-751 and get a new I-693. Has anybody had this problem? Anybody know why the supplemental form to I-693 wasn't enough and whether I have to get a new I-693? I am rather low on cash at the moment and having to pay for another physical seems absurd.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the response. The medical I did in Canada is over one year, but the supplemental form to I-693 is under a year. I don't understand why that isn't enough and that is the one he had in his file.

Thanks

hi and welcome to VJ ,

kriket gave you a link you can click on it explains everything

if youre medicial is over a year old when you go for your AOS you will need another full medical exam

the supplement is only good if your medical is less then a year old

sorry to say but looks to me like you have to go for another full medical , good luck

I believe Lona is correct; looks like you need to get a new medical as for AOS they are good for just one year.

Sorry about that... I would hate to have to get a new medical done too :( (man now I am hope they approve my file before May now! Montreal was so slow during the first three quarters of last year that my medical was done in early May and I didn't get my K1 interview until October!)

On this topic does anyone know how they would know how old our medicals are? Aren't our files at the border? Hmm...

The K-3 visa medical performed by the panel physiscian in your "home" country prior to the issuance of the visa is as everyone has indicated good for use wwith your AOS application, if the medical was performed less than 1 year prior to the date you file the I-485 application.

YMMV

Have the US citizen call your congressional representative's office and speak with someone there who aids in immigration matters. That is what I did when I got an RFE for an I693 even though my husband had completed it already within 1 year. The woman I spoke with said she can call directly and find out what is going on with my application and whether we need and new medical or if they can proceed with what they have.

Thanks

the supplement form isnt enough cose it mainly contains information about your vaccinations ,

as the full medical contains all the resolts of the medical you had like blod tests and stuff , ( over a year ago )

they ask to have another full medical if the medical is over a year to prevent any outbreak of a desease someone might have caught during that time , ( thats my thinking , cose i know even if your not migrating somewhere else its always recommended to have a full medical check once a year , to make sure your healthy even in your own country :) ) someone correct me on that if I'm wrong
