I would have had Egypt on my list but I was not impressed with their game today. South Africa has also been a disapointment.

Sorry Olivia

BLACK STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not into sports in general. But my sweetie and my daughter (by proxy cause she follows her stepdaddy) told me that I'm rooting for Black Stars and I love making noise!

WHOO HOO!!!!

BLACK STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a sports nut! Like, I literally go crazy for sports. Teams I regularly root for: Kansas Jayhawks, any team Ghana, Iowa Hawkeyes, any Philly team and if I do not have a team playing, I root for the underdog. I go crazy...nuts :help:

I have lost my voice yelling and chanting at games and yelling at the TV

My poor fiance

I don't do sports. Well, I'm not interested in any sports unless Bassi or KayKay are involved. Then I have to. But picture this:

You know how the guys all get together in Ghana to watch the live matches on satellite, no matter what time of night and they are soooooooo loud. Well, there I was in Nima in one of those big rooms, dressed in hijab (cause I only wear it in Ghana), watching football and screaming with the guys. It was sooooooo much fun. I was the only woman there. And they all told their wife bye bye when they left. Hee Hee. I really had a great time, and Bassi couldn't believe I stayed for the whole thing.

That is so cool. My fiance KNOWS about my obsession wih sports. When I told him I had an Essien jersey, he was like "Why". I said "Because he is smokin' hot and because he plays for Ghana". That made him look at me twice. He knows better than to say anything bad about KU football and basketball because one time he asked me "What if KU loses" and I reamed him.

Unfortunately, I have now discovered another Ghanaian player, Junior Agogo, oh my goodness, and that Bristish accent...oy....sigh.

He is going to be scared when he gets here. I have KU shirts filling my closet, KU decals and stuff all over my car, on my phone, sweatshirts and sweat pants, all kinds of ####### (mind you I graduated from there 3 years ago). Sigh...I loved it

Maybe he'll like having someone who loves what he loves. KayKay and Bassi like to go to the park and play football. I carry a blanket, snacks and a good book. Then it's a family day out!

I went to Columbia University......we hadn't won a game in 50 years when I graduated so sports weren't a school strong point. But now I think they are pretty good football and basket ball players. Oddly, a guy that was in my graduating class is now a professional football player, or at least he was according to the alumni newsletter. But we were national champs in fencing!

Fencing...

Inusah likes sports so I know that we will have fun watching together. My sisters have asked me if I have warned him about my behavior, rather craziness. I figure, he doesn't need to see that until he gets here

I grew up watching all kinds of sports with my dad. We used to watch the English Premier league together and the NBA. Even after leaving the US 20+ years ago he still keeps track of his team, aka, the Seattle Seahawks. I think that is where it rubbed off on me. My sisters could care less.

American football is sooooooooooooooooooo much different and better than African football, aka, soccer.

But it is always more fun when you got people to watch with.

My poor husband, (I love saying 'husband' :luv: ) he waited til the last minute to buy tickets for Ghana vs. Nigeria tomorrow--SOLD OUT!!

He's sooo sad. I told him I was going to watch online and he had wanted to try to get onscreen somehow.
