Interview

I applied for CR-1 Visa (I-130) back in May 2007, and 2 days ago I got a letter from NVC saying that my wife has her interview scheduled for Feb. 3 (Syria Embassy) - Horaaay, we have finally arrived after this long wait!!

So they sent me a package with instuctiosn, including the letter that my spouse needs to take with her to the interview on the sheduled date. And also they talk about the medical appt. and to make sure she has all of the listed immunizations in place etc...

My question is: Do they mail her the exact same package overseas? I'm asking because the mail takes a long time to get there, so is it acceptble for me to FAX her the letter that she needs to take with her? Will the Embassy accept this copy, or do they require the original letter??

Please advise, if anyone here has any experience or knowledge about this.....

Thanks!

She should be getting the same packet you received before her interview. If you think she won't be able to get it, you should try to mail it yourself or see if she can go pick up another one at the embassy. Also, she needs to call the doctor to find out if she needs to take the letter with her there as well. In Bogotá, Colombia you have or they won't even see you.

Thanks much for your help...so you think just mail to her anyway, to be safe, and not bother FAX-ing the letter? Would they not accept the copy (faxed) of letter? I was thinking to fax it anyway, so she can at least use the faxed copy to give to the Physician, hopefully the panel Dr. will accept a faxed copy....the problem for me is, even with the most expedited mail from here, it still takes the mail quite a while to arrive there - 10 days is the earliest, so that's why I'm trying to see if a faxed copy would hopefully be adequate, to expedite things a bit...

She needs to call the doctor and the embassy to see if the letter is needed and also to see if a faxed copy will do. I'm thinking no, but she needs to call and get an answer directly from them.
