My husband (I love saying that!) and I have read through some of the threads with regards to the topic above. No one can give a definite answer on whether this is a right thing to do. We are trying to save time by filling them together (so that we can be together sooner) but not sure whether that will be a good idea. And calling the USCIS helpline isn't productive at all. They are not being very helpful!

Anyone with similar experience or have gone through the process?

Any update/suggestion/comment will be helpful!

Thanks

The right thing to do is to follow USCIS guidelines....which on the I-129F form state, that if you are filing the I-129F in order to obtain the K-3 non-immigrant visa for your foreign spouse you must include w/ the I-129F petition, the evidence that you have filed the I-130, meaning the NOA1.

US citizens petitioning for K-3 visas for their alien spouses must also include evidence that they have filed form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, on behalf of the alien spouse listed on this form and a marriage certificate evidencing the legal marriage between the citizen and alien. (From the instructions for form I-129F)

I would not recomment doing someting not instructed USCIS....you may not like the results.

A few months ago there was information that the USCIS would accept I-130/I-129F during a transition period when the fees were changing. I have not seen or heard where this was to continue permanently..... Thus the inconsistency of the information you are getting...

YMMV

I have also read few posts very recently that some mailed out I-130 and I-129F together and had no problem. It must be a new phenomenon. But I would find someone who actually did it and did not experience any problem.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Exactly! So far I have only read on one person here on VJ, that has sent both petitions simultaneously, but has only the USPS receipt that their package was delivered...and is waiting to see what happens. Either way...I still stand by my original statement, that if the USCIS instructions state "Send one wait for receipt notice, then send the other petiton... I would not deviate from procedure in the hopes that I could shave some time off the waiting. The risk that things would backfire would be too great for me.
