I mailed the I-129f forms to VSC on friday. From checking online with the USPS I know they received on monday. Should I be getting a receipt in the mail from them, is that what the AOS1 is? Is this what I go online and register in order to track touches etc?

I know this is whole process is going to keep me frazzled I am a very impatient person, I like instant gratification and I drink alot of caffeine!! :-)

Thanks all!

I think you mean NOA1, and yes, that's the "receipt notice".. the NOA2 is the approval notice, which is months into the future.

The NOA1 will have your case number that you can use to track your status online. This number will also be stamped on the back of your check, so if you paid by check, you can check for that too.

Patience is definitely needed on this process. Check out my timeline. I think I'm running about "average" right now.

Good luck!

Typically you receive NOA1 a few weeks after the petition is received by USCIS, it has been taking them a bit longer due to a backlog caused last summer.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

AOS is adjustment of status. You do that after he arrives in the US and you marry. You have a whiles to go before you have to evey worry about that one.

Good luck to you.

After they cash your check you will receive the NOA1,not the AOS1(big difference)

the receipt nr will be the number to use for checking your status on-line.

Pray and have faith. It will be fine!

It's okay. Happens to everyone. The further you go along, the better you will process all of it. Just hang in there.

Hi IrieCat,

You can always see if they cashed your check when you do your online banking. Look at the image online and on the back, it will have your receipt number. Once you have that, you can register and check the status on the UCSIC website. Like the others said, you need lots of patience going thru this journey. It sucks that we all have to wait to be reunited with our loved ones but just know that this is temporary and your time will come too! :)

I'm going back to St. Lucia this weekend to see my fiance....a much needed break from this long separation.

Good luck with your journey!

A lot of excellent advice here, and congratulations on filing! Do whatever it takes to learn patience though. I'm also of the "instant gratification" variety, and I really had to dig deep and learn patience during this process. Best of luck to you!

Same situation here. It's been 27 days since I mailed in my I-129F, they said they mailed my NOA1 on Dec 20. according to the Online thingy at USCIS.

I guess it just takes patience. According to USCIS, it must be ove 30 days before it's considered "late".
