No Interview Date Still

I know I should not be so impatient. But everything has been going so good for us since our case made it to NVC. They sent it to the Embassy the next day, it took 10 days to reach embassy,Embassy mailed Packet 3 the same day they received our packet, we got and returned packet 3 quickly. Now we are stuck waiting for them to schedule an interview date. Embassy received our Packet 3 on the 27th of December 2007. The letter in Packet 3 staes within 10 buisness days you should receive a letter with and interview appointment schedule. Alot before us have gotten their interview in 10 days not 10 buisness days. We have allowed for all holiday and weekend closings and our 10th business day was January 14th 2008. I just hung up with Visa Office and the lady was very nice....she said it should be any day that he is absolutely eligible for interview there is nothing wrong with our case we are jus waiitng to be scheduled and maybe they are running behind due to the holidays. But today is Wednesday and if not scheduled and Packet 4 mailed today we will not hear anything until next week. UFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!! I am so frustrated. I shouldn't complain because our case has went pretty fast considering we filed in June. I just miss him and got my hopes up he would be here soon. My daughter is a senior and she is robbing my savings so I cannot go to Egypt again anytime soon. We wanted him for her graduation in May. Anyway, I have a purpose for all this venting. If I do not get an Interview date soon who can I get to help? My Congressman? NOw the dumb question......how to I find out to get in touch with mine? Thanks for any help.

E Mail the Embassy. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer, so be patient. I would begin to worry if you have not heard anything in say, a month.

Yeah - it really sucks but give it a little more time I saw someone going through Egypt and I was surprised at how long their journey was (can't remember specifics but it was crazy). I thought it might be a slow embassy but that appears not to be the case

some how you have to let go a bit somtimes it can take way more than 10 days to get an interview. And with Cairo ther is no telling if you watch it this closely your going to make your self crazy. We were told by cario in 1 month he would be sent his visa now 8 plus months later no end in sight. I just know how you feel but its out of your hands now.

I to have not been given an interview date the embassy received my packet 3 on the 15th of nov and still have no interview i have emailed the embassy and have had no reply for 6 days I called up and they have no information that they can give me its really getting me down

Thanks Nagishkaw....I have emailed them but they give me the same generic response....his case is pending the scheduling of an interview he will be contacted by letter once one is scheduled. I was going to give them 30 days but after that I want to be ready to have my senator or congressman contact them. When I called NVC today they said he was eligible and nothing was wrong he was just waiting to have his interview scheduled. It is hard to be patient when we see others got theirs in 10 days not even 10 business days. But we are trying....cuz we know many have waited longer than us for other reasons. We were just getting out hopes up I guess. Which is big mistake where Egypt Embassy is concerned.

True Water....and really I know that. But I posted this morning right after hanging up with NVC. We are just frustrated. We are also well aware some get them quickly and some end up waiting a long time. Then we have heard about the AP process that can also happen after the interview. But really we have moved fairly quickly compared to some. We just want to be together and with all the expenses of my daughters senior year I will not be able to travel to Egypt again for some time. So I iwll give them 30 days and then I will have my senator contact them for me. Good Luck I hope you will receive your visa soon...Inshallah. Take Care and keep me posted on when u get it.

Thanks for your kind words ans encouragement. This journey is definitely full of ups and downs. I am better since I know at least there is no hidden reason why we have not been scheduled other than they are just slower these days than before the holidays. I also heard that they are doing alot of interviews right now for the diversity lottery visa applicants which are taking alot of the slots. NOt sure how true it is....but the deadline was up in January to apply so maybe they have started the interviews for that. Anyway, thanks for all your support.

wow...since November 15th...I am so sorry. I wish you will hear soon. Have you called the Visa Office? They try to help you and encourage you. Maybe, they will get back on track soon and get you scheduled. Good Luck to you.

My case was approved by California USCIS office November 28th and went to NVC 12/17 and sent to Egypt 12/19 still not in the embassy yet. I feel like I am going crazy thinking how many times it could have been sent over and over again and yet they still do not have it logged in.

I told him in a few weeks we need to start the medical and police checks and send it in and just wait and see what happens. I am totally losing my patience because my baby is due in 7 weeks but 5 weeks to the delivery. I know Ayman isn't going to be here but I would have like for him to have had the interview so at least we know we are on some type of AP by then. I think our son will be in Kindergarden before his daddy gets here. I know thats not funny but my goodness we have lives too...all of us!

I did call the Visa office and all they said was that they had my packet 3 on the 16th of nov thats all the information they could give me but as it has been so long from the date they got my packet i could send an email. I sent an email on the 10th of jan and I still haven't got any email or packet 3. It is so depressing as it's been so long but I keep telling myself everything is ok and its more then likely sat on someones desk.
