:help: Hi everyone!

I came here on a K1 visa and now after me and my honey got married we want to start filing for AOS. We have a few questions and will appreciate if anybody can assist us with them.

1. How do we make a payment – should we enclose 2 separate checks one for I-485 (395$) and another for EAD (180$) or should we just add up the fees and write one check for 575$ to DHS?

2. In I-485 it asks for some A number. What is that and where do I get one? Is it that number that appeared on NOA1 and NOA 2 when we initially filed the I-129F petition?

3. What does the question “Date of last arrival mean?” and then the questions about “Place and manner of last entry “ on EAD form? This is my first time in the States. What should I answer?

4. If I entered on a K1 visa should I put © (9) in question 16 on EAD form which asks about the category?

5. Affidavit requires 3 years of tax returns. What should we do if we can only submit 1 year of taxes for 2005? Is it necessary to include a letter with explanation? My husband has a good job and enough of annual income to be able to support me and we can submit the letter from his job stating his salary and position – is it going to be enough?

This forum is great  Thanks to all (F)

I can only answer some of the questions:

2. In I-485 it asks for some A number. What is that and where do I get one? Is it that number that appeared on NOA1 and NOA 2 when we initially filed the I-129F petition?

This is your alien number, the number USCIS assigns to you. It should be the same A number as on your earlier NOAs.

3. What does the question “Date of last arrival mean?” and then the questions about “Place and manner of last entry “ on EAD form? This is my first time in the States. What should I answer?

This must be the date you last entered into the US -- when you arrived on K-1 visa for you. Place is your POE, normally a city or airport, if you flew.

Did your husband just not file taxes; or he had no income (student, etc)?
