The packets are usually sent 1 month before the interview...Mine arrived thru DHL on January 2 for my feb6 interview...or if you cant wait, you can print out the contents of the packet thru the US embassy website.

can i ask something with regards to passport expiration? i checked the manila us embassy website and it says that one of the requirement is a passport VALID ATLEAST 6 MOS AFTER THE VISA APPROVAL. my passports expiration is on 2010.. most likely il have an interview at the embassy this 2008.

do i need to renew?

No. That means that if, as an example, that your interview was in August of 2008 and the visa issued that month, your passport would have to be valid for at least 6 months after that date, or Feb. 2009. You'll be fine and may as well wait to renew it with your new married name.

I truly don't mean to be a bearer of bad news, but according to most timelines and paths down the visa journey most of us have come, you probably are looking at a May 2008 interview date, barring any special circumstances. I will wish and pray for your speedy journey, but keep your faith up, some day you will get the words you have waited for ... "Your interview date is...." Also, according to a few phone calls to the USEM... most K visas are interviewed the first of the month.
