Hubby & I are learning Backgammon again as we both played as children, but we have a question about bearing off..

You reach the end of the game and you only have 4 men left (you have beared off the rest of your men). If you have 2 men each in the 2 & 4 points and you roll double 5's - is the game over? Do you bear men off your 2 & 4 points just because they are the highest points in which you have men in?

I believe you bear off anything valued 5 or below, in this example.

Well that's what the rules seemed to imply.. but it just seems so easy.... I think I'm just jaded by life :)

So in this case, if the dice roll was a 6 & 5 instead of a double, would 2 men get bared/born.. whatever the proper way to say that would be?

If you cannot move internally within the home board, you bear off accordingly. In this example, two men are removed.

Gah!! it's so easy then!! My hubby trounced me tonite royally!! ;) Ah well.. i'll have to hone my skills.. no more mercy!! :angry:
