Hi:

Just wanted to share my "wonderful" day today.

I had the immigration medical today at Medysis. (however you spell it.)

Here's what happened:

Arrived at 12:15 for 12:30 appointment.

Sit.

Wait.

Some grumpy person who has obviously not had enough coffee today sits two rooms over from the OVERCROWED waiting room and yells at people like they are dogs to come into her room.

Go into the grumpy ladies's room. I dare to ask one question about something they want me to sign and she makes me feel like I am the idiot and that she does not have time for me.

Okay.. grumpy lady done. Back to waiting room.

Sit.

Wait.

Someone comes to get me and tells me how tall I am and how much I weight (it was in Kilos so I have no idea if I have gained any weight!! YAHOOO)

Go back to waiting room. (do you see any pattern to this?)

Sit.

Wait.

(can I mention that the very busy over crowed waiting room has HORRIBLE chairs and my butt will never be the same?)

Okay, called once again. This is when Dr. Seit is doing the medical. ( NO ONE TELLS ME I HAVE TO WARE THE BACKLESS DRESS AND I HAD NOT SHAVED IN 3 DAYS!!!) He was very professional, and tells me I only have one more thing to do before I got.

I again go back to the waiting room, which I must confirm has no clocks, too many people, 1 posted about how loud sounds can hurt your ears and 1 child who is way more patient than I have been.

Sit.

Wait.

Still waiting.. Still sitting.

Okay.. I finally get called by someone for the vaccinations, who tries to get MORE of my money by telling me I need the chicken pox vacatation even though I have already had them before. *shakes head* The best part of this, is even a teenage who I told about this, asked me why I needed a vacatiation for something I have already had. He's not the smartest all the time, but he's way better than these assessors.

So they give me a needle, which probably only has water in it, because I was totally up to date on my shots, and then say that I can go and pay.

I go to pay, and have to *SHOCK* sit and wait to pay!!!! While waiting, another VJer was there, and they lost her vaccationation record, (btw, hats off to you because I would have totally been taking there head off!!!). At the same time, they are talking to someone who has been there as long as I have, and admited that they "forgot about him". How nice.

So.. off to get my chest x-rayed... OFFSITE, because they have no where to do it. BUT.... because they have had me on my butt all day, the place is now closed. There are four of us waiting for chest x-rays and they have to call some other clinic that was closer (after giving us a lecure about how NO WHERE ELSE CAN DO AND WE WILL HAVE TO COME BACK TOMORROW. - glad they think that my time is worth nothing!)

So in summary...

I am out over $300, and all I got out of this was a sore butt, and well, maybe a good story.

So for the people who did not want to read all the above rambling on... summary.

WOW! I had a shockingly similar experience at the one in Montreal. . .except I was out of there by 4:30 and they only lost one of my passport style photos, pretended I never gave it to them and made me come back a second time, because THEY LOST THE PICTURE and could not do the x-ray without one!

So sorry about your experience. I took both my parents to Medisys and while I am certainly not enamored with the rather curlish attitude of some of the staff I did not have the same experience as you did. I lucked out, I didn't meet the grumpy person, the three ladies in the room were polite. A few differences between us come to mind. Firstly, I am a menacing-looking individual. Secondly, I brought my brother (the doctor) along and when staff finds out a doctor is with you, their attitude changes. A nasty blonde nurse suddenly started behaving differently when bro gave her his business card. Thirdly, I had all my parents' vaccination records with me. Still that's no excuse for the ####### you endured. Our FP told us of some real horror stories at Medisys and Seiden's about juicing patients before we went so I guess we did luck out.

hey!!!!

i'm the VJer who's vaccination records they lost!!!!...how are you?...i'm so glad to hear that you got your x-ray...was feeling bad for you thinking you didn't get it done...and would have to make the trip back...

had my chicken pox vaccination on Monday!...at my own doctor's office...not sure if they are charging me...they didn't there...maybe i'll get a bill in the mail...got a big red raised blotch where they gave it on the back of my arm...did you get one?...sore too...oh well...small price to pay...at least i haven't already had the chicken pox...LOL

i wanted to come back up the elevator that day to say i was going to literally run over to the x-ray clinic...but when i went back to the elevator it wouldn't go back up to the 12th floor...

i went over to the clinic we were supposed to go to and...

Guess what!?!?!?!...

they stay open until 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Medisys patients...that other guy we were talking to...the one going to Nashville?...he was waiting there still...

so i got my x-ray...and a lot of excercise...LOL...

the guy delivered my medical results and i haven't even opened the outer envelope...LOL...going to leave it as it is until the big day...you know how they gave you a hard time about someone signing for it?...couldn't be anyone but the person who's name you gave?...well i gave my mom's address and my mom's name cause she's home all the time and then they let my dad sign for it...LOL...so much for their strict policies and procedures...LOL...their dog probably could have signed for it and gotten them...LOL...

anyway...could have been worse...could definitely been better...LOL

hope your butt has recovered and am wishing you LOTS OF LUCK!!! on your interview...am waiting for my date...hope it's soon...
