Alien Registration number HELP!

We are having difficulties over my Alien Registration Number.

I know that it can be found on my visa and on my NOA2 above the beneficiary name and I have located both of these.

The problem is that the two numbers do not match.

They are the same but off by one digit, a 6 in place of a seven.

Anyone heard of this happening before? And which should I use on my AOS forms?

I would use the one that is on the NOA2 letter, the one hand written on the back side of I-94 card and the one on the Visa could be the result of misreading the number on the petition by a person at the consulate.

A# is issued by USCIS, as well as the NOA2 latter. The number on visa can be a typo caused at the consulate.

It will not be a problem, the photo copy of NOA2 is where the A# will be referenced.

We called USCIS, and they told us to use the one on the VISA since thats the number he entered the country on.

this is becoming a headache.. i am terrified this is going to mess up our process big time..
