I just looked at my account on USCIS.gov and I have a question. While the "Last Updated" changed to 1/16 as a result of my call(see below), I don't see that it says "Touched" anywhere. If I look at the detail for the I-129F, it still shows the same Current Status: Case received and pending. Where can you see a listing of touches or other updates?

It doesn't ever say 'touch'. A touch is just when the 'last updated' date changes - as occurred after you called.

so pretty much you have to check to see if your case has been updated everyday.. I don't a lot of people getting any approvals recently.. just a few.. is everything slowing down even more now?

maybe this is some good news for those waiting.

My NOA1 was dated August 27th (CSC) .. and I just recieved NOA2 via email on Jan 14th.

.. so ... keep an eye out and a peaceful heart .. subscribe for email at USCIS if not already.

and I don't think we can put too much stock in the USCIS updates. It's gonna be as vague as

possible. But if WE communicate more useful info will pass around.

I agree that the USCIS states they go by the receipt date. But, when you get your NOA2 you will notice the receipt date is the notice date. I saw this from from VJers who posted their NOA2. My hypothesis is they do this to make the timeline look shorter.

Anyway, just pay attention to when VJers around your receipt date are getting approved. This method seems to be the most accurate.

The receipt date is not the notice date- this may well be true for NOA2 but really that's irrelevant since the NOA2 means the end to dealing with USCIS (for a particular petition).

Sorry if my post confuses you. When you get your I-797 (NOA1) there will be a received date and a notice date. When you get your I-797 (NOA2) the reciept date is the same as the notice date on the NOA1. Unfortunately, the NOA2 has not been the end of dealing with the USCIS as it has been taking them a long time to transfer the petitions to NVC. A lot of people have been waiting 30 to 45 days to have their petitions forwarded.

Many people receive their NOA1 months after their application was received. VJers have been posting their notice date in the NOA1 box because that is what VJ instructs them to do. VJ bases timeline data on the "sent date" and NOA2 date because it recognises the actual length of time the petition has been with USCIS before approval.

I hope that you get approved soon, so you won't get stuck like me.. at least mine is moving again.. yay.. so hopefully we all get through this.. just remember one thing : NEVER GIVE UP!! Don't let the USCIS Control you.. I'm not afraid of them.. I have been sending letters everyday recently to my senators, congressmen (different kinds), presidential hopefuls, us attorneys, attorney generals, vice president, president, white house.. whoever.. the more people know about my case, the better.. than if they forward it to somewhere, that person will have 20+ copies.. :thumbs:

Congrats MPLS-BAQ .

I hope that means we are getting approved soon. Our I-129F NOA1 is 8/30 with a received date of 7/30.
