I thought this would be a great place for those of us waiting for interviews in MENA to meet for ideas, information and support...a place to share, laugh and cry. This process is hard to say the least..and for those of us waiting for our interviews...it can be nerve wracking...So come on in and join us as we support each other through our interviews and beyond if needed.

My name is Faith. My fiance is from Egypt and we filed for our K1 June 2007. We just recieved an email for packet 3, because Im to impatient to wait for DHL...lol... Next week is his medical and we will send our papers on or around the 24th. We are both very nervous. I for one am nervous about the interview and more so the possible AP to follow. I will be traveling to Egypt to be with him for the interview.

Welcome to this thread...may God bless each of us as we travel through the MENA part of our journeys.

Faith

So far your processing has been relatively fast.

I wish you have a fast processing all the way through.

Best of luck to you.

Compared to some..yes..I agree...thank you. And thank you for your wishes. We hope it will be speedy as well. I know there are a few others waiting, such as from Ghana, where the interviews take about 6 months to get through...

I would like to add that I will be keeping all of you awaiting your interviews in my thoughts and prayers. I consider it a privilege and an honour to lift up your requests to the Almighy God, and to offer encouragement should any of you need it.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I wish I could count myself among those waiting for interviews or AP, but we haven't even filed yet and won't for some months.

It makes me really really happy to see everyone here getting visas, but it's hard knowing that I haven't even started the process yet, and that going through Cairo, I'll probably have 9 to 12 months from the date of filing, possibly longer!

Anyways, my best wishes to everyone waiting in AP and on interviews.

I know how hard waiting is, no matter the reason for it.

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

Hi, I'm not MENA but I am waiting for an interview. I filed for K-1 in June 2007 as well. It took almost 6 months for my approval and then another 6 weeks in AP at NVC. I'm trying to remain positive and not stress out. My file arrived at the consulate this morning and I've already emailed them asking for packet 3&4. I hope it doesn't piss them off, but all they can say is No, right? So, we'll see. In Ghana, you get packet 3 and 4 at the same time and the interview dates are currently being scheduled for May 2008. I'm praying for no more AP. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed too. I'm considering call my congresswoman to get help with a sooner interview date. I haven't used her for anything, and I'm sort of sick of waiting. I actually thought this was a six month process soup to nuts. I didn't realize this would be a year. I'm trying to see if I can plan another trip to be there with him, even if only for his interview. I just miss my fiance a lot! Oh well, I know I'm preaching to the choir here.

Thank you. I know for myself, my process is relatively short so far compared to those in long AP waits..but seems no matter where you are in the process you need the support and encouragement from those around and the wait seems long....no matter what part of this you are in. Your encouragement is certainly needed and appreciated..thank you

We are glad you are here....a wait is a wait...MENA or not.....Iknow the Ghana wait is soooo very long til the interview and seems no matter how long, be it a month or 6 months...the wait for that interview to finally arrive seems forever. We are with yoiu and surrounding you with positive thought and prayer....I pray you dont have AP after all this as well.

No matter where you are in the process, you are welcome to join us. You to are waiting for an interview...you are just earlier in the process than some...but your needs for a positive, supportive place is still jjust as needed...so welcome...the thought of the time and not knowing is overwhelming to say the least...and knowing you MAY be in for a long wait makes it harder. What has been hard for me is just not knowing....the endless black hole of lack of information....

Good luck with filing...

We are waiting for interview and we did not get the packet3 yet in the mail. We are going to go ahead and mail all the forms in and his medical apt is this coming Saturday. He has everything from me. So hopefully by next week it will be mailed. Im still in highschool so my mom is co sponsoring me. She is well over the income limit so that should not be a problem or atleast I hope. surely if my age was an issue they would not have approved the petition right? Im 17. would it help if i was there at the interview??? would they let me in too??

I really didnt expect the police certificates to take so long...I know my packet 3 information didnt specify translations as being needed...and also know of members here that sent in packet 3 without them and had no trouble. I really think where they come into play is in the AOS. But I'd check on that...It may save you some time melinda...ask Tarek if his packet specifies he needs them. If it doesn't...he doesn't have to send it.

I had emailed Cairo on it...and they said that I was able to go. Weather they let me go up to the window is a different story but I certainly may sit with him. I think if you went it could show that the relationship is more valid..but I know Many here did not go and still had favorable outcomes...main thing for you is to show parental approval...I personally would get a notorized statement from parents showing approval to take along to interview. I know i will be attending and sitting with him...Im not young (not as you are)...but we do have an age gap... As I said before...copy and paste the email from the other thread into word...print it..and send it with the packet. Once they get it and you have verified they got it...start to email them for an interview date....stay proactive in this process...

For all others...stay proactive...I think Cairo needs to know we are watching our files and that we wont let them get dusty....dont overdo the emails...but stay proactive...any other suggestions for staying on top of things with Cairo....????
