And that's the way it is and was!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Yes, if only more kids were whipped with belts and beaten down at the principal's office, we'd have a near utopia!

I feel cheated that I didn't have a chance to share aspirin with my principal out on the smoking deck.

When I was a kid the teachers and principal had paddling as a punishment. The paddlings were public and usually in front of the class. Guess what happend when a student got one? First he usually got another one when he got home and second the infraction didn't happen again! We need to bring back paddlings. They are an effective way to deal with misbehaving and IMO is not abuse. We are raising a generation of spoiled brats.

I don't know. We had 'em too back when I was in school, but it was really only the trouble makers who got paddled. Those children who have behavioral problems show signs of it early in development and they are often mimicking behavior from home (father beats up mom and/or the kids). Job (son) talks about this kid in his class, Malachi, who is constantly rowdy and getting in trouble with the teacher. Last week he just threw his lunch box up in the air because he wanted to. His punishment was to write, "I will not throw my lunch box" twenty five times. I don't think spanking him with a paddle would be any more effective. The behavior is usually aggressive and is often a learned aggression from home.

It's not a cure all but it does deal with the normal adolecent misbehavour problems. Of course there are exceptions. But the threat of a public spanking was usually enough to get me to behave.
