I did not apply work permit, because we thought it won't take long to get GC, but thing was not like we thought. now we are preparing the documents we need to bring to interview. below are all we have:

marriage certificate;

bank joint account statement;

a letter form my husband's mother state that our marriage;

life insurance policy form my husband's employee;

my medical card( husband's company issue);

2007 joint tax income return;

my husband's past 3 years tax return,

my busband's w-2.

my SSN card.

my name is not on gas bill, electrictly bill, phone bill, tv cable bill, what can we do? is it necessarythat shown both names on bills? it seems like we don't have more documents, if it would be denied? thanks for your time.

We only have both our names on the water bill. If you can give a call to the various companies and think that the next bill will come in on time do so. If not I wouldn't worry about t.

take both medical cards, yours and your husbands so they can compare.

All documents sent (copies) to and received by USCIS (NOA, biometrics, etc)

Passeport(s) and I-94

Take a few pictures of you together and with family. It's not primary evidence but it doesn't hurt either.

If you are on the rental agreement or have your name on the house papers take them with you.

Personally we also plan to bring a few letters with envelops sent by our family and addressed to both of us.

But all in all I think you have enough.

The case is denied "only" if they don't believe that you are a legitimate couple (well that would be the main reason anyway). Evidence sure helps to prove you are bonafide, but really it's an overall thing that the IO looks at.

Good luck

Hello. We just had our interview. Walked into the office, held up our right hand and swore to tell the truth. The officer asked my wife if she had been arrested or had and communicable diseases. NO! Next, she asked for the I-94 in my wifes passport. Then, she wanted something that was mailed to my wife...we provided a medical bill and that was fine. Next, she asked for something that demonstrated I had added my wife to an existing account, like a CC, or Bank account, or life insurance...we provided a copy of my work life insurance. After that, she asked us how we met, which I answered. She stamped it approved and said we would get the GC in about 6 months. We received a letter about 5 days later saying we were approved and our GC would arrive shortly.

Did you marry to get a GC? If you really love each other and are not trying to trick them, you shouldn't worry to much. Our interview lasted almost 15 min...lol. They see alot of people, I think they are pretty good at telling who's not being honest.

Your almost to the end now. When you walk out of there, it's like a weight off your shoulders:)

don't worry about little things. I was on interviewed too.. I didn't have any bank joint account and assets with my husband but I did get my AOS approved.

I just took hubby, my insurance, photo album, marriage certificate, passport with I-94 and myself.

so at the interview, do they ask everyone to prove that you're married? what if you have kids and have been married for 7-8 years? is there a list of things USCIS specifically ask you to bring or most people take pictures, bills, etc as a precautionary proof of matrimony?
