what if I don't like to watch tv on weekdays? they should repeat the weekly episode on the following weekend. that's one thing I hate about american tv. Brazilian cable tv we would be able to see the repeat on weekends.

We pay $8/month for DVR. We can watch anything we want any time we want. I don't get why more people don't get DVR service.

Can someone explain to me why they like American Idol? To me it's like watching amateur karaoke hour. Anyone got some sort of explanation?

Well, I think I'd probably enjoy watching amateur karaoke hour, too, so I'm probably not the best to explain. :lol:

is this just the audtions that start tonight? if so, I'm all up for that because I think those are hilarious. once the talent starts I get bored.

Yes, 4 weeks of auditions before they get the the "real" stuff.

That's a good point... when I was in Brazil I watched the auditions part of the season that had Katherine McPhee... I have to say for the most part I enjoyed it.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it too. Can't wait to see what "brilliance" the judges have found in the auditions.

I just realized it though... west coast audience have to be home and watching AI by 5pm!! Wow. guess I never really thought about the time difference.

actually it is on at 8pm here on the West Coast too...

I watched almost the whole season last year and that was enough for me. Even the auditions can't hook me again this year. Ahhh well...I still have Project Runway... LOL

I guess I'll watch this season. I have never really watched before on a regular basis but I'm running out of shows that I can commit to weekly so I'll give it a try.
