Alright, I just quickly made some search and here is some of the stuff I found:

Registration of your Civil Wedding Abroad

United Kingdom

You cannot register your civil wedding abroad at a registry office but you can apply to have an original or a certified copy of your marriage documents sent from the consul of the district where your wedding took place to the General Register Office. Note: if your marriage certificate needs to be translated, translations must also be sent along with your certificate.

In order to do this, one of you must be a British Citizen and the original document cannot be released after it has been deposited.

Once your documents have been deposited with the General Register Office they can issue you with certified copies of your marriage certificate which will save you from having to contact the overseas authority each time you require a copy.

For further information you can contact:

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Consular Division

King Charles Street

LONDON

SW1A 2AH

Tel: +44 (20) 7008 0186 (10am to 12am Monday to Friday)

www.fco.gov.uk

I found it here

Hope it´s useful :)

I don't wish to stir the pot (all right, I do :P ), but in what manner is a pizza a pie? surely a pie has SOME sort of cover, generally pastry, but sometimes potato (shepherd's), and sometimes meringue (lemon meringue)?

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Ahhh - not necessarily as in lemon meringue pie... See... now if you are talking about sweet pies... those are better than savoury... although I prefer cheesecake

I wish I could cite a source, but I remember back in high school learning that the term "pizza pie" was coined in New York because of the way it was cut into slices like a pie. This is unlike Chicago style and (if memory serves) Italian style, where the pizza is simply cut into squares.

*vessel of useless trivia since...well...for a long time* :D

Of course not all pies are covered. I think the term pie is used because of the bottom crust or layer that acts as a mold to keep everything together. Whether that's toppings, pie filling or whatever. Pecan pie has no top. Pumpkin pie has no top. So, are they not pies? I think most everything that is made round and cut into wedge slices can be considered a pie. Just my thoughts. :)

I recently watched a program on the history of pizza on the History Ch. And it went back hundreds of years and they never said pizza was cut into squares. All pizzas were cut into wedges. And some were even made smaller and simply folded over or rolled and eaten like a burrito. But yes, the first time pizza was called a "pie" was in a New York pizzeria.

I take your point about pecan and so on, Jason - even without pointing out that I WAS mainly being tongue-in-cheek, it's a good point ;)

however, I still don't think pizza fits into that definition - the dough is a BASE, and doesn't come up the sides, like all other pies, and the toppings all sit on TOP... if you need to, you can make pizza on a flat tray, and it will still come out alright; you can't say the same thing about pumpkin pie and whatnot ;)

Hi everyone. We have visa in hand and are flying in a few hours to Las Vegas. Finally we will both be at home in the USA. Next the AOS hurdles. Somehow i am much more patient and calmer on those hurdles. I think it will be much easier doing them being together and living instead of being apart and on hold. I hope all the july filers we started with are close to uniting as well.

Listen people, the debate is over. Scott says during our chat:

pizza is a pie.

...

there's no question about it.

...

it's technically called pizza pie.

So really, people, there's the offical word.

;)

And congrats Chris & Gretchen. :D

Hahaha. I didn't mean to sound so serious. I'm sorry. But, hey, haven't you ever had a deep dish pizza? This is most certainly a pie. And the dough used for a pizza and a pie are basically the same. But I do see what you mean. So, who knows? maybe we're all wrong. But its a fun topic anyway.
