Susie....I almost fainted when I read your post!

omg I did too! Then I saw it was you who posted it and I knew it was a joke. ;)

Did you all vote today?! Okay, I realize many of you can't, but did your spouses??

I voted.

Then I went to Starbucks b/c they are giving free coffee if you voted, and the line was out the door.

Marta, no I'm not wearing green! :P Just green shoes. A little something different. ;)

Ha! I almost fainted too :D:lol: I am allowed to vote but not in certain countries :P Hey actually I am allowed to vote here too but only if there´s election going on in CZ and I go to the Embassy :P I wonder if they do something in Starbucks here too. We haven´t gone voting yet cuz it´s 8am :P

Will someone see your green shoes underneath your huge white gown then or is it just your secret? (OK, yours and mine :D)

haha, they are not a secret, but I don't expect many people will see my shoes! I don't know, I just wanted something a bit more fun than white shoes, and green is one of my colors, so... seemed like a good idea. ;) Maybe I'll get green underwear too, and that will be my little secret. Mine and yours and VJ's.

There is all this excitement in the air right now for the election. It's really cool. I had to do a paper ballot though, which annoyed me a little bit because I checked my registration online yesterday and everything seemed fine. During the last presidential election I was in Canada so I voted absentee; then after I came back to NY for some reason they kept me on an absentee ballot. It was easier so I just went with it. But then something came that I had to sign stating that I had to be unavailable to be absentee, or else I'd be lying, so I re-registered, tried to be a normal voter. Somehow they messed up and I wasn't on their list today. Oh well, at least I still got to vote.

I usually vote on my way into work, but Griff asked me to wait until after work cos he wants to go with me. He likes seeing the election stuff in progress. :) He's definitely going to naturalize, so he needs to see how it all works.

The green shoes idea is a little weird, but simultaneously cool. Hey, its your day, so may as well do it the way you want it! BTW....What shade of green? Hopefully not puce! :P

Actually, yes, puce...

, j/k. It's moss/grass/apple green, in that arena. My other color is chocolate brown. I love the combo. :)

fingers crossed, debz!

did you guys read the post of the guy who thinks that his case should get expedited because he knocked up is fiancee?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=160094

well - if your fiance lives in a third world country and you don't use contraceptive stuff, and you do the big nasty, there is a chance that she will have a bun in the oven. and yes, you knew how long it takes to get a visa for her.

If there was an expedite for pregnancy, all of us would get pregnant (at least I would have ;) )

I will probably get killed for that opinion though.

:)

ohwell.

Seems most people agree with you!! It does seem a bit stupid - it's like, if you don't want your partner to be pregnant in a sh!tty situation then don't get them pregnant!!! Sure mistakes happen but a lot of people are suggesting that he just support her how he can by finding her somewhere else to live...

Susie....I almost fainted when I read your post!

I'm wearing a blue top today in support of the Democratic party. :star:

I am not allowed to vote but I am also wearing blue today.

I'm wearing yellow and orange with turquoise slippers... I'm not sure what that makes me :D

I've been nagging Jeremy about voting so hopefully he will

glad to hear that everyone is pretty involved in this election...i have never seen anything quite like it, its so exciting!!

i voted early on friday because i figured that the lines would be shorter than today, and i have class most of the day today as well...it was just less hectic to do it on friday, and i like that we have that option here...i am wearing my navy and baby blue nike dunks today...for all of you non-brooklyn kids out there, those are sneakers haha we take our shoes very seriously :D

ohhhh rae, i love the green and brown combo, in fact much of my house has that general theme going on...brown is the base color, and the accent changes between blue and green in the other rooms...i love brightly colored shoes with neutral toned clothes too, and i like the apple green idea!

debz- yeah, many states that have traditionally been red have either turned blue or are now swing states...it's just freakin great haha! indiana is a good example of this, mccain is only 1 point ahead in the polls (which is, of course, smaller than the margin of error)...i am glad that i voted here and not in ny, one extra push for obama in indiana!

a few ppl have asked me who adriano is voting for  i guess that people assume once you marry a citizen that you automatically become one yourself...oy vey, if they only knew just how complicated it actually is

i agreed with you and posted if the situation there is so bad he should send her support to get her and his future baby into a better place. I also liked how he complained about having to pay the medical expenses there "out of pocket" lol. I posted he should try that here in the USA.
